When cutting parts off I've also found that there's a sort of base mold with details on top of it. You can see it in the white plastic at the core of the miniature and the visible grey outer layer

I'm almost tempted to kitbash those Ratlings Grots since I I could always use Grots. Also for crossover themed conversions, I've always wanted to kitbash my own Chaos-corrupted AT-ST aswell as a squad of Chaos Stormtroopers, mainly as a fun little side project and just like the idea of Warhammer crossovers with the focus being Chaos corruption and what not.

I tend to keep a sewing pin in my plastic glue nozzle! Never clogs and better than the plastic cover! Get one with a ball end, not a flat end, easy to grab :)

You're probably spot on about the face sculpts. I'm certain GW is using a 3d modeling program, and props like the cigar would be added to the digital sculpt after most of the face modeling had been finished. I keep a whole library of digital assets that I've made, or found, that I can add to any existing model. Mostly just so I don't have to make little fiddley bits more that once.

Love the conversions. The leader with a beret and eye patch looks a lot like big boss from metal gear solid so I'll be doing a mini based on him I think. Would the heads work on a guardsmen body?

ive recently used tamiya with the same thinner but i tend to get a very glossy finish that doesnt take paint very well after drying

are you definitely using XF2? There is also X2 which is a glossy white.

Hi henry, got an airbrush question. Whenever I try to use Tamiya flat white, the paint sort of spatters out irregularly in the beginning, but if i keep going it works fine, whats the solution to this? I turned my PSI up to try fix it but it doesn't seem to work, should I thin the paint less? Thanks

how are you mixing it with the thinner?
