Curious Black Bear Climbs Ladder || ViralHog

"I had two curious bears come to check me out. The black bear decided he needed to come up my ladder to check and see what was sitting up in the tree so he started to come up the ladder and when I noticed he may be coming up all the way. I decided to talk to him to let him know I was there. He was in no way showing aggression and seemed to want to just hang out and play on my ladder stand as if it was a jungle gym. After about six or so minutes of me talking to him, telling him to get down, go away, and repeatedly laughing at how he was almost getting himself stuck in the ladder rungs, he decided to go down and walk away."

That’s a pretty big bear for being young, unless this was pretty far north, like for canada standards far north, I doubt this thing was young and was probably just not close enough to humans to have a lot of fear of them.

Black bears are usually not aggressive to people unless they feel threaten or protecting cubs and food.

Even when threatened they prefer to retreat instead of fighting back. Unless they are trapped in an inescapable corner. Then they'll fight back. And they fight back to protect their cub's from strangers.

And with cubs too they’d rather run! In outdoor ed years ago a group of us kids came across a bear and her cub looking for food we had. We didn’t see them till they were right on us, both the mama and the cub were less than a couple feet away from us kids. And we, children, were able to scare her and her cub off by yelling at her. Black bears are super docile and very sweet animals. They just want to have a look and interact with their environment. People just happen to be in that environment too sometimes.

@@philaofishx4876 ... Because the population of black bears in the us is around 330,000 to 460,000. Only 32,000 brown bears and about 1,500 grizzlies (excluding Alaska which has a little more) by comparison. When you look at attacks/pop black bears are the most docile.

The problem is that bears aren't really social pack animals, so they aren't going to communicate on our level. If a wild dog or horse gets annoyed with you it'll communicate that in a way you'd probably pick up on. A wild bear that gets annoyed might just suddenly swipe and take your face off because it doesn't have the toolkit for subtle social interactions.

The American black bear, a true treasure, is EXTREMELY intelligent and curious. He was just weighing the pros and cons. 🤗 Stomping your feet and yelling would decide him quicker, but PLEEEEZE don't shoot him. Grizzlies are mean, with no excuses, but the American black bear is a treasure. ❤️

Black Bears don't really attack unless they're near their cubs or they feel threatened. A grizzly bear and other brown bears are very dangerous and if they attack and you can't take it down quickly you will be at that bears mercy and have no way of winning the fight.

Joshua Meek Thats strange. I have seen/heard the opposite. Black bears are sneaky af. Also playing dead is useless-they will just keep eating you anyway....seems like they are better climbers too. But brown bears are faster and bigger and stronger and more aggressively in your face. Or with it after they ripped it off. But they don't seem so curious as blacks either. They mostly want to stay away from us except for stealing our food. Seems like black bears are sneaky snoopy about every damn thing. Idk. Just what I've learned. If you have actually been in the wild with both you know more I guess.✌🐾🐗😯

Black Bears are more curious than sneaky , if they see something unusual they want to check it out and they're more likely to run away if they come across something and really only attack if your near her cubs or it feels threatened. Grizzly's, Polar, and Kodiak bears follow different minds. A Grizzly is more aggressive and will never run away, dunno much about Polars but most of them are nearly always hungry and always searching for food so I'll say stay away from them, and Kodiak bears will charge you for seemingly no reason and with them being the top predator in their area with them blending into the environment almost perfectly they'll charge you and you'll hear it long before you see it. Also Kodiaks are some of the biggest bears with quite a few out growing polar bears they'll not be too afraid of you. ,

He was trying to pull the rungs off with his teeth. If you’ve watched videos of them in people’s backyards, they tear everything up. In one, mama bear completely destroys the pool pump and the babies took care of all the toys and floats.
