I nearly looked away when you started machining the sole.

Paid a visit to The Shoe Healer shop today, Saturday 7th December and what an amazing place it is. They sorted the colour of my Church's shoes out lovely. The staff are all wonderful and very friendly, so if you're want any repairs done or fancy purchasing some quality shoes and boots get yoursslves along and have a browse.

Nice video Anthony. Nice ahoes. Sadly we retired our rough rounding and channeling machine a year or so ago, superb piece of kit in the hands of a skilled operator but, due to the shortage of suitable footwear very difficult to teach a novice. By a simple change of blade three different stitching tracks could be produced, a channnel that could be closed to cover the stitching, a groove that removed a small strip of leather and my favourite, a slitter, a slit a third of the way through the leather when closed covered the stitches completely, looks almost like a closed channel. Have a nice day.

What a shame you retired that machine, I think I saw it years ago..I asked about the closing wheel on the side of it. Must have been visiting with my dad!

Anthony..there's a master cobbler in usa "Beados LLP" on KZbin channel He will do close chanel stitching fiddle back waist etc etc. But his charges can be as much as $350.00 for his workmanship. The workmanship you both do is great & to the highest standard. You've always come good for me..😊

They are my perfect boot, what a job, I can wear them in any condition and don’t need to watch that I slip, I’m sorry the finish on the sole was sacrificed! They are getting well used!

Seems such a shame to take that beautiful finish off that sole, but I understand why. A nice job done.

Beautiful boots though I think the burnishing on the toe was a little too strong for my taste. I really don't know why people order a leather soled boot or shoe and then put a Topy on it straightaway. If this was a custom order why not specify a Cheaney "Diamond" sole which is a leather sole with a rubber cover sole added (in a diamond pattern unsurprisingly). This type of sole is available from many manufacturers (Crockett and Jones call it a City sole for example). Even if it wasn't available I'd have still worn the soles down a bit before allowing it to go near those machines. Anyway, the customer is always right....

You would lose the look of the fiddle back waist if it had that one (if it was even an option) and when it was worn down would need a full resole. At least with this you can keep changing the cover sole so they won’t need a full resole, saving money and time, and the customer wasn’t local so saves any hassle really. Customer loves them anyway, which is the main thing.

Great stuff. But he could have worn them a bit. Inaugurated them and blessed them with his feet. And THEN got cover soles...... BEE-YU-TI-FULL

Not local to us so got them done now to save hassle

I wouldn't want to wear them and scuff the soles. They deserve to be in a glass case.
