You need to register custom dimensions if you want to see all of your event parameter data in your GA4 reports.
This short video shows you how. Here are the terns you need to know:
event: an interaction that is tracked in GA4 (like a click of a link)
event parameter: additional information that tells you more about an event (like the URL of a link that was clicked or the specific page a visitor was on when the link was clicked)
metric: a quantitative number in your GA4 data. Like the total number (event count) of link clicks
dimension: a descriptive attribute of your GA4 data. Like the URLs of those links that were clicked. Event parameters can provide dimension data.
custom dimension: some dimensions are standard in GA4 but sometimes, you need to create a "custom dimension" so you can see your event parameters in your reports.

Awesome content. Your teaching is clear. Just a quick question: Is turning on the toggle of enhanced measurements in GA4 enough to see specific parameters (not to mention as u mention in the video create custom definitions ) or do i also have to create events too inorder to c all the data like click url or is crwating events ONLY for custom events? Can you please also do a tutorial on google search ads and how to optimise it step by step. Thanks

Hi Tony, thanks for the kind words. If you toggle on those enhanced measurement events, you'll be automatically tracking all of the parameters that are in the "Parameters" column in this linked Google resource: support.google.com/analytics/answer/9216061?hl=en For example, link_url is an event parameter for the 'click' enhanced measurement event, which will track external link clicks. If you create a custom event in Google Tag Manager to track *internal* link clicks, I'd also add the link_url parameter to that custom event. I hope that answers your question. You can check the bottom of this guide that I've linked below for step by step instructions: www.rootandbranchgroup.com/ga4-click-event/ I'm not doing a ton with Google Ads these days, but it's good to know that it would be interesting. Are you most interested in a specific campaign type (search or display or video, etc) or more of a general overview? Best wishes.

Are you referring to the "Events" standard report when you click into the individual event that has the event parameter / custom dimension? In my experience, it's usually been there the following day (Google says it can take 24 - 48 hrs I believe). But that's provided your property has actually collected that data in that time. This is not retroactive so it will only begin collecting data then.
