The original wire striper is not worthless. You just put the cable in it and then you close and hold the main blade on it, then you turn the cable and the blade does the cut. That notch also does way more functions than that.
@omniasomniportance3899
@omniasomniportance3899 3 ай бұрын
Isn’t the issue though that if you remove the original knife, then the Spyderco ones may not necessarily be long enough to work with the wire stripper? What are the other functions you can think of for the wire stripper notch?

@@omniasomniportance3899 Who has a SAK with a Spyderco blade, a couple of people, maybe ten? I talk abou the millions of others, who own SAKS. You can use the notch to bent metal wire,create loops or half loops (hook shape).remove nails with it, open glues that their cups are glued on and can't be opened with hands,use it as a guide to create perfect straight lines and mark wood etc. Here's a KZbin video link with it's uses. You are absolutely correct. It works well for a certain size of wire and certain size of Swiss Army Knife. Sharpening it adds some extra function and lets it work as a wire stripper on it's own.

another thing about the Wenger scissors is that they are micro serrated so they grab and hold whatever you are cutting and are supposed to be self sharpening. the nail clippers also have the serrated scissors.
@FittoSurvive
@FittoSurvive 3 ай бұрын
True. Yes, the nail clippers are an implent from Wenger that Victorinox bought out. That's also why the nail clippers are 65mm.

Great job of fitting all those tools into the Swiss Flame. I'm digging the acid etched model though, having two spider co blades with hopefully better edge retention does it for me and it does look really cool.

I think swapping the liners - dark liners with light scales and vice versa would look pretty good.

I like bitg 😅 - the stainless gets the majority if it's cool points with the lighter, this is the first I've seen that before. I also like the Wenger options and the scales look cool with the hammered out look. As for the avid washed, the overall look is cool, and I'm a sucker for the dragonfly blade.

Amazing works of art! Not a fan of the roadie blade that huge gap when closed from being much shorter would spark lil OCD. Always wanted the wenger pliers an scissors till I felt how thin they feel. Always like to see the pruning an electrician blades.

i really like the blacked out version. i’d probably pick black g10 liners because not a fan of carbon fiber pattern, which reminds me of pretend vinyl wrap that try to look like it’s a certain material and cheesey car interiors. black is black, but carbon fiber isn’t. the springs being replaceable is a plus and better rebound than level type springs. great work.

Thanks. I have the same issue when choosing a "favorite". Yes, sometimes it's like trying to build a puzzle from 4 different boxes. 😅 This silver build was a major pain. Trying to figure out which tools are compatible and which spring they will fit on. At one point, I wrote my client and told him we'd have to remove some tools, but finally figured it out.

@@FittoSurvive i was thinking something custom made specifically for victorinox, might be hard but with the proper tools it must come out great. I think something simple just a few metal sheets that can hold a tshank saw and secure that with a small screw

Honestly not a fan of the new pliers, the scissors are fine, but the way that wing bar wedges in between the handles.. eh. Also they got rid of the ferrule crimper as a result, but gained jaw-position options at least.
