As someone that worked on Chronicle's patch as a menu/NPC dialogue translator: I will say you're not missing much plot and the unused quotes are a pretty good indicator of what the writing quality in that game is actually like. I'd say Bouken, which I edited some text for, actually has more of a story than Chronicle even though so much of it was cut during development.

I know you probably meant that ironically, but I need to stress that 7 is NOT the last "mainline" game. There never was such a thing as a "Mainline/Sideline" distinction. Puyo Nexus came up with it, Sega never even hinted that any of the games were not considered "mainline" and recently even confirmed that they just dropped the numbering scheme after 7. That's all.

I was indeed being ironic. As far as I’m concerned the numbering scheme for the Puyo games is pretty arbitrary (Fever 2 being ‘Five 2’ is a bit silly), so dividing games as mainline and sideline is weird imo. If anything, I think some people used it as an excuse to not try out less popular titles like Puyo Puyo Box :P

I’m starting to get into puyo cause of you. And I got the translated rom for puyo puyo 7 on Wii and I love it ! I just suck ass at making any combos

My recommendation is to just watch others play Puyo, and observe how they make their chains. You’ll get the hang of how to form them after some time. I’ve found that the key to Puyo isn’t necessarily making the biggest chain, but being the fastest to set yours off!

I've played Puyo Wars. ALL OF IT. Streamed it even. Jovis from Arle's adventure is a main character in it. Aside from that, the entire game acts like Arle's adventure happened the way it was originally planned to in early drafts... Which it, obviously, did not. This creates a lot of plotholes, as you can imagine, lol.

There's another thing you didn't mention! Last year i found a character select icon for risukuma for the story mode of 7, indicating he was originally playable in 7's story mode(he can only be played with in vs)

In that cut diologue between Klug and Amitie, part of it was still left in, though far less explicit. I like to imagine that it's a similar case to Sorcerer Magazine from Fairy Tail, where a section is dedicated to mages being pin-up models and that is the part that Amitie opened.

11:49 in this part, with the context I think the word 'ecchi' would better be translated as her calling Klug a 'pervert', as while porn stuff is called 'ecchi', it's also just a general word for things erotic or perverted. SO it implies the exact same thing, but said in a way that wouldn't be as explicit as straight up saying 'porn' is in Enlish, still warranted being removed though in a game meant for most ages
