@@tiggert4002 anything could be possible, it’s more of how the ferrets and cat behave, so if you have a high prey drived cat then please don’t put them together, and if the cat seems fine in general with other small animals, then just make sure you are supervising them.

I live in a rural, wooded area and our old ferret Molly used to ring a bell when she had to go to the bathroom outside and she'd scratch when she wanted back in. We had a long PVC pipe she'd hide in when there were bigger animals around. Magical little creatures.

Twelve years ago, I barely knew what a ferret was...now I've had nine of them altogether and can't see my life without them. (Long story, I won't bore with details) They are absolutely wonderful animals and I'm constantly learning more about them and their care. They're like puppy kittens their whole lives. My ferrets loved to play with my cats. They also loved my neighbours Great Pironise dog next door and she too loved to frolic with them- with supervision. Surprising how animals can get on. My twenty year old Maine Coon cat, Alice, and my 15 year old snake, Geraldine, would cuddle together next to one another in Alice's cat bed. My ferrets are all quite old now and they still love tubes, toys and a good cuddle. Geraldine loves cats and ferrets as well.

Dogs were a lifesaver for my pet ferret! He is aggressive with other ferrets, im thinking because he was alone at a pet store and they should be in pairs, but he has always loved playing with my chihuahua who is only a little bigger than him and ive been able to let them play together so he has a friend his own size. I let him free roam for 5 or so hours a day so he can hang out with my dog. Animals of different species can be friends! Hes a large male who weighs almost 5 pounds so I cant risk putting him with other ferrets to see if they'll eventually work out because he's just so big compared to most other ones I've seen.

I love ferrets so much. The interaction of the dog and ferrets reminds me how how my first guide dog, Lanny, and our male ferrest Itachi were like together. Lanny loved to sniff his little friend. Itachi liked to play Peek-A-Boo and Lanny would get confused and leave when the little friend disappeared and poor Itachi would pop back out and be like, "Peek-a.... Hey, where'd he go?!" I miss both of them. Lanny passed in 2014 and Itachi was in 2012 or 13. 😢

Ferrets are actually pretty smart, so they can learn to be called by name. Some might take more training because I’ve seen some just refuse to listen. The little fluffy slinkies know what they’re doing though
