With cynos, can just the cv joint be replaced or is it the whole shift that needs to be replaced

Did you have to add any fluid to the differential? I have a 93 toyota tercel manual trans, i need to replace the 2 cv axles and i been looking couple videos, and they said that there’s a separate fill and drain nut for the differential, i always thought that it was the same as the transmission fill and drain, do you know if it is separate or not? And where is it?

I really don't know what to do now about a court spilled out of my manual transmission paseo... I know it's gear oil set of transmission fluid but I don't even know where to put it in that I'm worried about driving the car and causing damage to the transmission can anyone help

i have the axle off of the car on the driver side. the end piece is stuck in the transmission. how do i get it out??? i have tried prying on it, pulling, turning, everything, and it wont come out. what do i do??

Are you able to hit it like i am doing at the 3:00 mark?? I really don't have any more advice....bigger prybar. I have taken out the other side axle and CAREFULLY use a long screwdriver and drive it out that way. tricky but can be done.

I'm guessing you mean the inboard flange? Take a large brass drift and a deadblow mallet. 1-2 good swings and it should come right out. All you are trying to do is get the snap ring to unseat so the part will come out. Check the seals when it does and replace if necessary. That will prevent leaks and contamination. My Corolla is a 1992 with over 266k miles. I've done both sides twice - it's really easy.

Go to autozone. Get a loaner slide hammer, and a loaner axle puller. Screw the axle puller onto the end of the slide hammer. Insert the axlepuller (it's thin) inbetween the transmission, and the end of the drive shaft end that you're having trouble getting out. Give a few tugs on the slide hammer, and the end should come out. I tried using the screw driver method to get an axle out years ago, and it literally took hours, and quite a bit of frustrated cursing, before I gave up. Then I heard about the slide hammer and axle puller combo, got loaners from Autozone, used it, and within five minutes the drive shaft was off. O'Reilley's probably has them too. Same with Pep Boys. Point is, get those loaner tools. Use them. And then return them for your deposit back.
