Thank you coach. I honestly think I’m small for a corner, 5’9-5’10 and only 145-150 pounds. I’m about to be going into my senior year in high school and haven’t played in 2 seasons so I’m not strong or fast but with these drills and hitting the weight room, I think I can get to at least 160 lbs and get somewhat faster.

Oooh I don’t know about that flip the hips the way it was shown.. if you flipped that far out and the Wr has closed that close and breaks the other way and you flip you’re 2 steps behind and trailing.. that would be a reverse pivot out to stay in the upfield shoulder over flipping.. you pivot vs flip when that distance gets closed

@@GridironStuds The volume level definitely goes lower when you’re speaking out on the field but the drills are so timeless that you could either make a video of each drill again which I am sure you already have or just do an updated version because it never gets old! Hi there coach! This video helped me gain an idea on how to backpedal and when to use it. It’s thanksgiving break, and I want to improve when I come back to school for being a cornerback for my flag football team. I’m trying to make a full schedule for myself to improve as being a db. I’m trying to include specific drills to help my eye discipline, lateral quickness, strong hands, and route IQ. I’ve been doing some grip drills for my strong hands and doing these 5 drills in the video for lateral quickness and to move my hips quickly to adapt the moves of the wide receiver. However, I’m not really sure what to do know. Do I keep on doing these 5 drills in the video as a daily defensive back? Do I keep on doing what I’m doing cause really I just do these drills in the video and a grip training drill. My workout schedule for a defensive back is kinda plain, and I’m asking for your advice on what to do to advance my workout schedule. Should I analyze film from the best cornerback? I’m not too sure, as I’m not too experienced as a defensive back. I haven’t been playing actual games against other schools but I will next Wednesday. I just to make sure I can do my job as a defensive back really effectively to lead my team to victory. Any advice on what to add to my workout schedule helps as you are the man!!! Thank you coach for your videos and I’ll be glad for what answers you would give me for my questions !!! 🤝

I missed this message. However, at this time, since you are playing games. Stick to what you are doing and make an emphasis on improving the drills each and every time you do them. Master those drills. There are more advanced drills that you can do but answering that here could take forever. I would direct you to my All Eyes DB Camp Member's area for info on more drills you can do to improve your play. You can find it here at: alleyesdbcamp.com/sign-up/

Hello! New DB coach here! Which routes would you be defending utilizing the Weave & Stay Square and same question for 45 Backpedal 45? I just know my players are going to inquire and I want to give them the correct answers! Thanks!
@GridironStuds2 жыл бұрын
Any route with a stem so for instance, a corner playing off and inside vs. a WR running a dig. The WR will need to attack his leverage (inside shoulder) to gain inside position when he makes his break at the top of the route. DB will need to weave to maintain inside leverage. For a safety, he uses his weave when he wants to move to an area but not commit himself to it. So weaving to a hash from the post position while not having to open and run there in case the throw goes to the opposite hash.

What’s up coach, i’ve never played DB in my life. I played defensive end and linebacker in high school and i was lucky enough to get an offer from a small college, but i think i’m undersized (6’0” 185lbs) to play either of those positions at the next level..are there any tips you and pointers you could give for transitioning into a DB?
