I loved the song the minute I heard it and I remember the day I heard it on the radio, the DJ said, “everyone’s calling in wanting to hear the new Cyndi Lauper song.” That song saved my life. It's an amazing song. I never thought until recently about this but it's the song I want to play at my funeral whenever that may be. I remember hearing it in a grocery store when I was a little kid shopping with my mom and thought it was the most beautiful thing ever. So heartbreaking/uplifting at the same time and brutally honest.. (: Congrats Cyndi!!

I am blown away thinking about where this woman (and other iconic 80s female performers) came from! I took vocal performance at college in the 80s and made posters for my recital with Cyndi, U2 and Madonna's images. She is ageless and timeless.
