The Tempest Domain seems like a perfect fit for a Triton! Just flavor it up with maelstroms and electric discharges similar to eels.

I will never forget a character I made as a Tempest Cleric, my friends and I wanted to play kind of a Borderlands/Heavy Metal setting and we wanted to be a band, so just took a look at Heroes of the Storm that i was playing at the moment and my favourite hero always was ETC, so a Minotaur, Heavy Metal (Tempest) Domain Cleric, with a GreatGuitarAxe and his thunder and lightning spells being the manifestation of the power of Metal of the Musicians of ages past.

True enough, though I might spread that range out to a standard B-S-Rank... And yes, Grave is pretty good too as a support class... I’d rank it up there with Life. I think that Death Domain has a pretty good shot at matching Light or Tempest for damage-dealers if you modify it with a little homebrew. I’d make its class-abilities a standardized conversion to AoE instead of single-target to “two within 5ft”. Up that distance from 5-10ft and make it a 20ft diameter of 4” on the grid. But that all depends on how you run the game using minis or theater-of-the-mind... I just got a Chessex Mondo-Mat and I’m loving it, ha (Actual size of the thing was a bit of a surprise... I was expecting a Dining Room Table sized area but it’s almost as big as my Cal-King mattress, ha!)

I don’t know, I feel a little bit like the Forge Domain needs some tweaking done to it like the Death Domain... I love the concept but I feel like it should have a choice between Force or Fire damage added and some incremental stages of upgrades to the AC/“To-Hit”+Damage bonuses above +1, give them that feeling of working the raw materials into a weapon worthy of the Forge-gods... (maybe a retooling of that Channel Divinity feature that seems to just make them really, really good at making Masterwork... Forgeries? ) I would place it on the same tier as the Arcana Domain... it has some great flavor, but would it be broken to make it have a flat dispelling effect equal to the Spell Level you are currently able to cast? Also, just give them a spell from the Wizard-list every time they learn a new spell-level....? keep the cap-stone ability as is, just let them feel like they’re the manifestation of a god of Magic’s will on the Prime Material plain.

The instant Brian gave his character's name, i knew without a doubt he was based on Father Callahan (Related note, I just finished reading "Wolves of the Calla" tonight. Ka is a wheel and its all 19)

I’ve tried to start The Dark Tower series a few times. I’ve made it through The Gunslinger 3-4 times actually... I did not know that he had ever picked up the character in The Dark Tower. I had always just assumed that Father Callahan was turned in 'Salem’s Lot and that was why he couldn’t enter the church. Maybe he wanted to clarify the difference so some of the readers didn’t have a fit like The Exorcist saying that a person filled with Christ/The Holy Ghost cannot be possessed by the Devil at the same time...? I thought it was interesting though, alright.

I usually enjoy Tempest Clerics and I like to flavour the 'Spare the Dying' as like a defibrillator shock to keep the person stable yet unconscious. I've been DM'ing a game and I have a person playing a Nature Cleric, which I never realised is also a really fun subclass. She's basically gone Full wisdom and runs in with Shilleagh and knocks people around. Takes a couple of turns to start up with bringing up Spiritual Weapon as well but she can really smack things about once she's at full swing.

Even with proficiency you need the strength to wear heavy armor or your movement is lower. Unless your a dwarf they can wear armor without the strength requirement

It sort of bothers me about clerics (who are my favorite class) that pretty much the god your PC chooses is inconsequential other than for flavor reasons in 5e. Like I have a life cleric whose god for sure doesn't have that in her portfolio and there's literally nothing stopping me. It'd be cool if there were some like some optional diety/worshipper symbiosis mechanics or something. I just think it'd be neat.

Love these subclass video topics but wish u guys spent a little less time on your builds and more time on the class feature mechanics. For example, cleric action economy in how you’d prioritize abilities and spells in combat, and talk a little about use of features and spells outside of combat. Just my 2 cents. Thanks 🙏
