Ar Eireann Ni Neosfainn Ce Hi - my favorite as Gaelige. Liam Clancy first introduced me to this song and it has since become not only one of my favorite Irish tunes but one of my favorites in all of music

@@ThePamAnne Hi. Irish person, here. They’re right. It’s a metaphor about rich girl and her mother who try to attract someone to marry the daughter. The man they attract isn’t very handsome and is of more modest means, and they’re not sure about going forward with it, but then it turns out that he has a bit of money to spend on the daughter. The father doesn’t like him, though, and the man says that, if the father doesn’t let him be with his daughter, he’ll kidnap her. The lyrics relate to seaweed gathering.

In September I was on the beach at Dunmoran, co. Sligo, and it was full of huge seaweed that I had never seen before, there were people picking it... your song Colm took me back to that wonderful trip ☘💚

The first time I heard this song... I was diving in the mangroves of the amazon looking for clues about the song of dragons. It stuck with me and became one of my favourite songs from Endless Ocean Blue World to the point that every time I dive there, I play the song on the jukebox.

I'd love to see some Irish songs translated into Irish. Songs in English that are considered Traditional Irish like Rocky Road to Dublin, Irish Rover, Whiskey in a Jar, Fields of Athenry, etc. Also, I'd pay good money to have a physical copy of your Irish language songs in album format.
