Dabi is the PERFECT way to write a villain that's both broken and irredeemable.

@@silkwind7618even then Vader redeemed himself by saving Luke. He switched sides whereas Touya didn’t. Touya stuck to it til the very end. He would’ve killed everyone within a small nukes radius if he hadn’t been stopped.

@@ChaoticMysteriousEntity what do you mean? Dabi never redeemed himself. He still holds hatred to his father and never did anything to get redeemed. The only thing he has in the end is regret that he hated Shoto even though he is as much as a victim as he is

@@Fei-Chan Before he was about to explode, Toya resurfaced for a moment and stated he didn’t want it to end this way, he still had things he wanted to talk and argue about with his family, he admitted all of that while hoping he could prevent himself from self destructing but it was too late and he accepted his deranged fate. Even before his face started cracking, he had relaxed a little to gain some consciousness because the sight of his whole family (mother & siblings) was softening him up, he only actually hated his Father Shoto (Endeavour), even crying for them and forcing a hateful persona towards his family, and at the end of the manga he regretted everything but didn’t care anymore, he was just glad he got to speak with his Brother Shoto. Btw Vader (Anakin) did NOT redeem himself, he’s still broken, evil and killed too many people despite being a grown ass man who couldn’t accept the truth, he was still more aware and wiser than Dabi too. One act to save his son doesn’t redeem anything because it didn’t change who he is and what he had done. At the hands of AFO, Dabi and Shiggy are both the greatest villains up-to-date that are considered “Broken & Irredeemable” despite their final moments, the scars remain and it’s befitting but they did show their true and pure younger selves within their final moments, Vader did not.

There are support items to help heroes perform better. He wouldn’t be as powerful but I’m sure he could have been a great hero regardless if given the chance, and still be safe from his own quirk

Probably not, quirk awakenings usually require the user to go through a near death experience, toya would have just had to have stuck to rescue work, or not being a hero at all, since it was endeavour telling him that his whole purpose was to surpass All Might was the whole reason Toya became obsessed with training and becoming a hero

@@Fei-Chan actually the combination that endeavor wanted wasnt half fire half ice, he wanted a fire quirk that could use ice to stop the overheating so dabi was the perfect combination but used his fire before awakening his ice

I love the design so much. His flames are so hot that going all out basically turns him into walking corpse. The fact that he was still alive really drives home how strong his hatred is for his family and that he would stop at nothing to see them burn. I love that he wasn't redeemed in the end either. We understand how he came to be and that if things went differently he could have become a good person and that's enough.

2:13 He immediately recognized his mothers voice after a decade even though he was completely ready to burn his father with him to death and went seemingly completely crazy. I mean he doesn’t look like he should notice anything in that condition. But he wasn’t talking to her or his siblings like normally to Shoto and Endeavor. Those two would get mocked by him no matter in what condition he is.

For as horrific of a person as Touya has become, I think it’s only right for him to be saved by the family and make sure he doesn’t game end himself. It was great timing too since Endeavor had just given up on Touya again. The emotions were complicated as heck this time around, but I’m hoping that Touya can finally find some level of peace.

Dabi is what you call a true crash out villain this man's fire was so beyond hot it almost took out half of the city is like a black hole exploding taking out half of the Milky Way solar system the only reason why Todoroki ice glacier attack was able to work it's because his brother was at a high temperature where it worked on

The parallels of Enji getting his scar where Shoto has his and Touya losing his arm in the same place shows the connection between your actions and the consequences they have across time and people.

Dabi was the perfect villain but Endeavor wasn't worth whatever redemption his fans say he "earned". Even now when this part of the series is animated, just makes it all the more pointless because said "redemption" is practically being shoved down the audience throat

@FlamingSolo damn funny response but such are the words from a simp for Endeavor. The family would just as easily walk away from their abusive father if it meant Dabi would return to said family. Best way to put it, and to shut up your argument with ease, when heroes are saving a city from invasion or destruction, they are saving even the criminals, like murderers and thieves, who reside in said city as well as innocent civilians but they have the time to differentiate. Stop the bigger bad while letting other bad figures get to safety and to cause problems another day. All Might knew that for a fact while Endeavor was ruled by a popularity contest.

Nobody in his family forgave him, nobody wants to forgive him, and yeah, if it meant Touya could be alive in their lives again, they'd probably toss away endeavor, and he's okay with that. But they know that that can't happen, and they're willing to move forward with endeavor. (Except Natsuo, he's leaving to start his own family)

Endeavor was tired of being 2nd fiddle to All Might, so he married Rei Todoroki, an ice quirk user, to have a child that could best All Might. The first two children didn't make the cut then Toya was born with a powerful flame quirk but a vulnerable body to heat due to his ice ability inherited from his mother, so Endeavor shun him. And then, Shoto, who had a perfect blend of both the fire and ice quirk, was born and Endeavor spent most of his time brutally training Shoto from childhood to best All Might which made Toya jealous and made him overuse his flame quirk despite the toll it put on him.
