This song was made when South Korea had a ban on travelling outside the country because of Covid, although Coldplay did get special permission to go there for 3 days to record it. They weren't able to shoot the video together so they got around it by recording it in their separate countries and using the Hologram concept to bring it all together. Amazing idea and the video is fantastic.

I remember that newer ARMY demanded that the lady alien dancing with Jhope scene be deleted out of the video, because no one should be dancing with him, I bet they felt not too bright ,when they saw the behind the Scene video of the part.

There several behind the scenes and follow-up videos. It started deep in the middle of the pandemic with Chris getting special govt permission to enter Korea to record. The guys couldn't believe such a big star would come to them! They're so humble!!! Anyway, a loving friendship formed and the rest is history!

This collab was extra sweet for another reason -- because, before anyone had ever heard about this collab, BTS (seemingly randomly) sang a cover of Coldplay's "Fix You" on MTV Unplugged, and some German radio host insulted them, saying they weren't worthy enough to cover a Coldplay song (calling it "blasphemous"), and calling BTS a "virus" (this, during peak pandemic times/aka, recall the Asian Hate that rose alarmingly during this period) and saying BTS should be sent to "vacation in North Korea" (which is basically saying they should be exiled, with prison-camp, or worse, insinuations). Army was up in arms over this display of arrogance, racism and xenophobia -- and artists who'd previously collabed with BTS like Halsey and Steve Aoki promptly defended them (bless these two). And after all that -- to find out that Coldplay and BTS had a collab in the works and that they were already forming a truly endearing kind of 'brotherhood' behind the scenes was the perfect "comeback"/cherry on top to shut that radio host up (along with other doubters and haters). Plus -- what was this collab song about? Unity, embracing differences, and coming together -- couldn't have been a more "take that!" theme to counter the hate. Others have suggested it, but do watch that mini-docu/behind the scenes of this collab. Truly heartwarming. Ahhh...good times. The Hobi solo stans came out in full force trying to boycott the MV because of J-Hope "flirting with an alien". Which was basically a green "lump" on the set. Both groups filmed in different locations. Oh, yeah, and the aliens were CGI. Because, you know, we should ALL be jealous of a giant green lump of fabric...LMAO (SO pleased to finally see them working with REAL women in Chapter 2, though!!!)

Nesto ! Coldplay headlined at Glastonbury a few weeks ago and they performed My Universe with BTS on a giant screen behind them. It was amazing to watch our boys even if they weren't there in person. Chris Martin has a very special relationship with them and refers to them as "his brothers " ! He's very close to all of them and gifted Jin one his guitars before his enlistment. ❤

This song came out before the Jin collaboration there's a whole documentary of this collaboration coming together helpfully someone sends you a link to it. There was also a interview between Chris and BTS like a artist on artist interview and before My Universe BTS covered a COLDPLAY song Fix You and that was the beginning of this love story.

You definitely got the meaning of this video. It was also during covid when it was hard to get together and make music. Coldplay has such beautiful music and it fits with BTS so well. I always get chills at V's part (his deep smooth voice) and Suga's rap where someone is singing with his rap. It just sounds so good!! Coldplay also did a performance with BTS holograms; super cool!

I thought this was a reaction to their cover of Coldplay’s Fix You…which canNOT be ignored. This can not be the offcial HYBE version of the MV because the subtitles are all in English or whichever language is chosen and not split with Korean subtitles. That might be why it was copyrighted because it's someone else's version. I've watched many reactors react to this video and they played it straight through with no problems. Usually, yes (there are a couple things HYBE has blocked)...however.... You're forgetting THIS was released on COLDPLAY'S channel...since it was included on a Coldplay album. Even the "Behind the Scenes" video was on Colplay's channel. Only the "Making Of" was on HYBE's.
