@@MadeWithLau 7:47, the correct pronunciation is (gloo' tin es) /ˈɡlo͞otnəs/ rice as in "glue" or as in gluten in bread. Not pronounced gluttonous as in to overeat so your "gut" is full. Glutinous rice is also known as sweet rice but it is not literally sweet from any form of sugar. Nor does it contain gluten.

Everytime you video comes up on my YT rec, I would be reminded of the food i have growing up when my grandma was stl the chief cook at the house. Just finished watching your video. Thanks for sharing your culture with us. You make cooking Chinese food easier. And thanks for explaining the meaning behind each dish. I learnt alot about the importance of taro cake this evening. Kinanaskomitin. I thank you.

I love your dad’s recipe, I have tried a few already and they were great. my grandfather was Cantonese and he used to cook taro differently it looked like puree with pork, by any chance your dad would know the name and recipe of this delicious plate. I will appreciate it a lot. 🤞👍🏼

Gong Hei Fatt Choy from Singapore! I chanced upon your channel and now I can’t stop bing watching. My hubby is Cantonese and I’d want to cook all these yummy Cantonese dishes for him. I also absolutely love the tips that Chef Lau dispenses throughout the videos. I’ve tried the oyster sauce Kai lan recipe for Chinese New Year and my family loved it. Thanks! Will be trying other recipes soon!

when your dad speak , he sounds just like my dad specially the accent. i don't know the birth place of my dad and he is also a good cook, we lived in the southern part of the philippines our last name is Liang or Leong , he told me that we have relatives in Canada before his passed away. your dad reminds me a lot of my dad that's the reason why i subscribe to your channel. stay safe everybody.

In 🇯🇲 we call Taro.... family Coco (smaller) Dasheen (bigger). Some countries call it Eddoe. We boil it we call it a ground food. Best with curry chicken. The purple Dasheen is my favorite.
