Very good torque and bhp gains to be had from a stage 1 remap on this car if you like a more spirited driving, well worth it for a few hundred quid in my view, especially if you fully own the car and not tied to a lease. Would buy one myself if I had a charging port in my house, could use it on electric around town for pennies. Personally, I love the chunky steering wheel and the nice engine noise. For now stuck with my 335d.

You are right. I’ve just bought a 330e G20 and it is very easy to manoeuvre compared to my previous 330i E90

Hi Lucy, when you've got a full tank and full battery what is the projected range? Thanks
@beb1527Ай бұрын
It all depends on how you drove before you last filled/charged it up. Also if you are in a location where temps are below -5C/20F, electric range falls dramatically. I've owned a US spec model with xDrive for 2 years. I've seen gas only projected ranges from 240 - 420 miles (mostly 335 - 350). I've seen electric only ranges from 12 (extremely cold winter) to 29 miles - mostly 18-24 though. The full tank/full battery range is usually between 350-365 miles. For me, I have to really drive it hard, to not get at least 30 MPG (and it is a lot of fun to drive it hard).

I drove one of these today as part of my job and it felt similarly fast to a 340d m sport I drove a couple of months previously despite significantly lower tourqe figure-----couldn't quite figure-----.
@KevBell1847 ай бұрын
The range is interesting, on a full tank i get about 490 miles, about 35-40 electric, the rest fuel. probably depends on the model maybe. but 108 on half a tank and 3/4 battery seems really low, but i rarely drive it in Sport mode which drains the fuel
@beb1527Ай бұрын
agree! However, I could see that happening if you are driving multiple very short trips in frigid weather. If the temp is that cold, I recommend starting in Sport or Battery Save with the engine - heating the car up, and then switching back to Electric/Hybrid. If below -5 C, and you are running on electric - you are probably using more of the electric power to heat the car than to actually move the car.

The new models haven’t got a stick shifter. Do you know how I would get my 330e in hybrid with sports transmission without it. I believe it’s just a vertical lever now. Great video btw 🔥🔥
@bikeman1237 ай бұрын
If max charge is about £2 for 19 miles as you say, that's not a whole lot cheaper than running a 330d. There's only a £10 pa saving on road tax now for new phevs.

@eljefeamericano43088 ай бұрын
I understand why you keep comparing this to the S5. With that, you had a proper driving experience. A naturally aspirated V8 and a manual transmission. Sport mode? Just drive the thing harder! Seeing modern cars with half a dozen drove modes just depresses me. It means the car is never just doing what I'm telling it to do. Somebody else has already decided shift points and throttle mapping, and I'm just playing along with what they've decided that car should behave like. For five hundred a month, you could have an older S5, and some money put off to the side in case it needs servicing!

Quite funny really, majority of people only buy BMW for the badge... and I wouldn't buy one because of the typical driver/owner 😂 so it doesn't really matter what BMW design, as long as it's got that badge people either will definitely or definitely NOT buy one.

What a broadminded outlook you have. Very refreshing.
@kilouco2 ай бұрын
I used to be a japanese car manufacturer customer because of reliability. But truth is I really like "spirited driving" and Hondas could never really scratch that itch. BMWs are cars made to be sporty before anything else, and it took me years before giving it a chance because of exactly the same prejudice you have toward the german brand. Now I'm on my second BMW, and I'm very aware of the loss in reliability. And the reason I have my 5 series is definitely not because of the badge. Was it solely because of the badge, I'd go with Mercedes which has arguably more "status" among those that are not car enthusiasts (even though they are in the same price range).

“Crazy acceleration”, really? Even Volvo S60 T8 is faster.
@joseluislopes39565 ай бұрын
On paper, but having driven one it doesn't feel like it. Hard acceleration from eletric into petrol mode felt sluggish and the powertrain behaviour didn't felt as refined as BMW's. It also costed almost €10k more than the 330e
