You forgot to mention that Park's best friends in Utd were Evra & Tevez and they couldnt speak with each other bc of the language barriers. Even Ferdinand was baffled with their friendship.

Evra now speaks english fluently and i suspect he had already learned at 2009. I guess Park could speak adequately as well. I am not sure about Tevez, but he had already played 2 years in West Ham before joining United, so it would make perfect sense for the three of them to communicate (just) fine in english! The trully bizzare friendship was that of Beckham with Roberto Carlos in Real Madrid, before Beckham had even learned spanish, as depicted in his documentary. That scene was hella funny!

I will forever remember vidic and ferdie, the always dependent van der sar and a fiery and young de gea, the midfield engines of scholes, carrick, and fletcher, and van nistelrooy, rooney, chicharito, tevez, and the wonderkid himself, christiano. they brought christmas to me every matchday, and i will forever be grateful to them for it. we can kinda forget about patrice evra and post ronaldo/glazer manchester united tho

Park is Korea's greatest legend, but Son has many fans in Korea, so many people criticize him as trash. All his achievements are overshadowed by his son's goal tally. This isn't right. A player who contributed greatly to the success of the best club of his time is being imaged as if he just sat on the bench and did nothing. People who idolize Son act systematically and often commit terrorist attacks using SNS

Ji-Sung Park was the best player on the Korean national team, as evidenced by his match rating and four World Cup MOTMs. It's a shame that for all of this, he's being treated like complete trash and perceived as a worthless player, taking advantage of the fact that he hasn't been able to play much or score much due to his poor knee condition. In Korea, mention of Park's achievements is met with hysteria from SON fans, so I've rarely seen people talking about his greatness lately, so it's really nice to see him on a foreigner's KZbin channel. Thank you very much

Men can certainly be late bloomers, especially if you were overworked physically and not getting enough protein. Not getting picked meant he'd have trained a lot less and getting plenty of meat plus could totally made him catch up on his height. That happens to even female high performance gymnasts and men already stop growing later than girls.

@summonerbraddysg51 they're similar but different. They both have amazing spatial awareness and footballing intelligence. They just work better in different parts of the field. Muller uses this to max capability as a forward while park uses it more in midfield. It's why muller will have more goals and assists with his awareness in attacking areas, but park would be much more involved in the buildup and provide much more defensively.

Please have a look at Bum Kun Cha. He was 'the' South Korean Exotic, like Yasuhiko Okudera, from Japan, start till Middle of the 80s here in the Bundesliga. He played for Frankfurt and Leverkusen. Hope I might not be wrong, but I think he was at least around 180 Games and 90 Goals. And before Erling Haaland? We had Joern Andersen. At least one time the golden boot in Germany till around the 90s. Later Manager. Wynton Rufer was New Zealand. Long time captain for Werder Bremen, still Nr 2 of the History Table all time behind Bayern here. Back then you were only allowed three Foreigners. So most times it would have been a boy from Europe. Seldom a complete Foreigner. It is like a rare treasure. Even 2 Wales boys ( Wayne and Dean Thomas), Scot ( Vincent Mennie), a Finn and a Islandic even a year at Bayern each ( Pasi Rautiainen and Asgeir Sigurvinsson). Sorry! Have a look in your preferred league! In England has been a Goalkeeper from Oman recently. He must have around 200 games in Prem or Championship to his Belt!

@@horscanigunger5098 As a korean, i watched a lot on Cha Bum Kun. Yes, he is the first Korean superstar in the footballing world. However, he wasn't considered that much of a hero during his time as a player within korea like Park and Son were. He is now held in the same regard as those two but due to the political nature and mindset south korea had at the time, it meant that he wasn't considered to be the face of south korean football in korea. South korea were conservative and actually considered sending him to another country to play football as losing a national treasure and tried everything to not send him. This perception changed by the time it was park and when park joined man utd, he was considered a national hero for going there. Park was the face of south korean football, revered by the fans back in his homeland. Cha, whilst he did experience it to some degree, was not able to get this warm reception from korea at the time. Now, though, he is rightfully held in the high regard he deserves and in korea, people will ask "Cha, Park, Son?" and the question literally means "which of these three do you think is the greatest korean footballer of all time?"

In a round about way, Park is the player who made me realise just *how* good Messi is/was. 2011 champions league final, Sir Alex Ferguson's tactic was understandably to have Park, their fittest most tenacious player, man marking Messi, following him everywhere for 90 minutes. Watch Messi's goal in that game, as Messi pops into that pocket of space to receive the ball from iniesta, park can barely run, he is exhausted, pointing at someone else to go and tackle. It was at that moment that I realised. Not only do we have arguably the greatest passer ever, arguably the greatest dribbler ever, arguably the greatest goalscorer ever.. but he's just outrun and outpaced one of the fittest players I've ever seen Park was a legend, united need a player like him right now. Very underrated and did an amazingly tenacious job.

Ji-Seong Park, the previous Wing forward of Manchester United & the South Korean national football team member used to say that he tried his best to make his team a winning team, so he had to run again and again like he had three lungs at the time. He was a normal human but he had an iron will to make his team a champion in the league. Although he retired too early at a relatively young age of some serious wounded, he could find another hope in his football career. He found the promising younger football player, a junior member of the Korean national football team, Heung-Min Son, Sonny about 12 years ago. Thus, he could say that he didn't make an amazing achievement but Sonny would create more incredible records as a professional player in the EPL. Nowadays, he has been working for a South Korean football club as a technical director.

One more incredible fact about Park is that he achieved all of his career even though he is flat-footed. It is really depressing because many Koreans think that being flat footed caused a knee injury, which made it hard for him to keep playing for Man Utd.

Beckenbauer loved the attention. Breitner speaks, if he feels, something is wrong. That's the 'spirit' of the older Oberbayern Bayern. Wenn I mog - mog I. Wenn I ned mog, dann mog I ned! ( Bavarian)

I wrote one, but I have to write another post, because this video doesn't do justice to Park as a footballer at all. Park was quite a technical/skilled player. Not as skilled as Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Nani etc, but still very skilled. But what made him so special is that he was always ready to put himself aside and to do whatever the team/manager asks him, needs him to do. Many players of his talent would probably be unhappy to play a squad role, even United. I'd say United fans were very lucky to have a guy like him being in and out of the team but always ready to perform on top level when they need him. Describing him as a player, I lile to use Nani... Nani was much more skilled and individually more talented, but what made Park more dangerous, even in the attacking sense alone, is that he was much more intelligent, a much better team player, knew how to exploit spaces and positon himself, had great link up etc. Unlike Nani who mostly just loved to display his individual skills, dribble etc, but couldn't work with the team on that level. That's why even in Nani's best season (2010/11), where he had most assists in the league I think, it was Park and Valencia who played on the wings in the starting XI in all the knockout games in the CL (including the final), no matter how good Nani was. Again, Park was very equipped individually, but what made him special and gave him the edge is that he was such a great team player and so intelligent AND hardworking (not only that as the video mostly shows), and that made him so valuable, especially in the big games, where you needed much more than skills to hurt the opponent.
