I agree. It is nice to "look after what you have" that's such a nice sentiment. I definitely forget to be appreciative sometimes, but I am very lucky to have the life I have. Thanks for the reminder! I have been in therapy for a while now and it's been amazing! I also signed up for an art class (ceramics) and it's really fun so far.

Hi Catherine, your will Power to bring this Barbour Jacket back to life was truly amazing. Seems like the hairdryer played a big part in helping the Wax seep into the material. It looks fabulous now. Aaaah good effort with the wax jacket, well done. The process reminded me of using saddle soap to clean and feed the leather on old jackets, bags and sofas. You think "thats a lot", but the old leather is like " AGAIN" 😂 couple of years ago started counselling as I was having anxiety attacks and was very depressed, it help me to identify my triggers, develop coping strategies and learn to say " no" " not today", " haven't the the capacity ". Good for you Catherine ❤

Well done for persevering with the Barbour jacket. I sent my 20 year old jacket to South Shields uk and it came back like new and it only cost the minimum amount quoted. Yes mine is for walking the dog only as it’s great for walking in the rain I also bought a matching hood too. Your garden looks really pretty 💐

My mum had a tent made of this material. The adults were in a small sleeping tent and me and my brother slept in the wax tent with all the food and supplies. However, she had not waxed it! so it leaked when it rained and I woke up to be floating around on my airbed with tins of baked beans beside me😂

🤣 mine’s over 30 years old - they should always look weathered - someone I know wears their father’s, it’s 40+ years old. I’ve always dry cleaned mine - when it got really bad (actually says you can do that on my care instructions) and I get it rewaxed after cleaning

Loved this, I'm on the North Wales Shropshire borders and it's getting decidedly autumnal here too. My absolute favourite time of year 🍁🍂🍁 Great job waxing the jacket. I used to have a short and a long wax and that's exactly how I rewaxed mine. I did them once a year. I'm also working on myself and my mental health. I had a wax jacket, not barbour, since I was 16. This jacket is 24 years old. Worn around horses and dogs. Yeeees, a little "country" smell as you can only air it. Unfortunately, there are more and more holes and open seams so I am looking for a new one.

Very seldom, up on the mountains yes, but not often, Winter can be cold with some frost, but the past few winters have been mild with most days been around 8-10 degrees and then 3-4 at night

i‘ve had my barbour for 30+ years. all i do is clean the inside with a damp cloth and surgical spirit and air it out on a nice day before and after the season (roughly sept-april). the outside i‘ve re-waxed regularly (about every other year) myself. i didn‘t even know there was a professional re-waxing service! and now with the blasted bre🤬🤬it it‘s no longer an option for me (currently living in austria). aaanyway - your jacket looks fab and you look very „boho country girl“ in it. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 lots of love and „servus“ from tiny-town austria, monica

Barbour is absolutely an awesome brand!!! I have like 20 models! The idea is that they will be always with you and that you will replace the pieces that need repair so it can grow with you. Hope you love it! 😊

My wax jacket I had years ago used to smell of horses terrible (I owned a horse) so unless you are doing things such as working with horses or digging out muck heaps it should be ok .
