@@mattgg1216 lol no comparison. I opened up my lexa 400tw to lube it and found all the new tech, a lot more than just the t wing. They added a whole lot of new technology and fixed a bunch of flaws the old lexas had. They even have X Ship now. Its supported just as well as my trinidad. Best baitcaster ive ever had, and ive had tranx, komodos, and all the old lexas.

It got better too! They put X Ship in these! I opened up my 400 and found a whole bunch of new designs, it's a completely different reel than the old one, looks way better suited for high pressure on gears. Casts way father than my hds too!

Can the 300 size 7.1 wind in jigs up to 125-150g easily? My spinning reel size 4000 its very hard to wind them up, feels like im killing the reel.

I just bought mine today, the 400TW 7.1:1 filled with 310 yards of 65# maxcuatro and there's still room for some 20 yards of topshot, can't wait to test it with a good bluefin tuna 😁

Oh yeah, I opened mine up and they are a huge upgrade from the old ones. It's more like a super duty tranx with a bearing supporting the drive shaft and X Ship with 2 bearings supporting the pinion! Huge step up in the saltwater baitcaster lineup.

310 of 65 lbs??? Is that line really tested at 65 if it’s thinner than the normal 65 diameter ?? I like the reel but wish it would accommodate 50lb power pro braid ,,,, what’s your feedback thus far in action and line options ?

Good review, thanks! I like the way you explained how the T-Wing increases casting distance and then snaps back into "normal" position once you turn the handle. This was my first year musky fishing, and I liked my Lexa 300 HD a lot, then got a Prorex TWS and absolutely fell in love with it, it is the greatest. The Lexa is good too, especially if you want a 300 size, and a TW Lexa like you reviewed would be great. Diawa is doing great things.

Just got the Lexa TW 400-P. Can’t wait to use it. I still have the original grey Lexa 300 when it first came out. Some of my pb yellowtail(30lb) and yellowfin tuna(40lb) were caught with that little guy. Keep up the good work 👍

Is the brass main gear a new feature, is it a forged/milled gear or is it still a cast main gear? Everything else looks good great and certainly worth considering over Tranx, but is it a cast gear?

Trying to figure out if this reel has dual pinion support. I know they list at 9 bearings, I assume there are 2 main shaft, 1 anti-reverse, 2 spool, 2 pinion, and 2 for the knob. Just wasn't sure about this. Someone on TackleTour also let me know the Tatula 300 has dual pinion support now but it only has single main shaft support (the bearing against the frame is a bushing on the Tatula).

I've got a Gen 1 Lexa on a Diawa Jupiter 7 Ft 6 in 16-30 and that I use for casting from shore, inshore, etc. Have taken tautog, salmon, rockfish, bluefish, and many other species and never felt under gunned.

No it can’t handle what conventional reels can. It is extremely difficult to flyline a live sardine with a bait caster for my local fisheries.
