I was literally gonna recommend the coat of primer to expose the imperfections right before you mentioned it. Excellent work my friend. I'm hoping to get my hands on one of my own soon.

One reason I keep my junk hoods if I replace it with a new or better one. If I get a damaged hood, I can cut the section that I need to repair out of one of the junk hoods and mold it into the hood I need to repair.

Keep up the good work. With this video and your previous hood repair video, I got the confidence to do my own humvee hood repair in my garage one weekend a year or so ago.

For future reference, to save yourself so much sanding. Get 36 grit paper and sand or do your shaping while ur resin is in the firing stage. It's like rubber, I've been fixing tractor trailer hoods for 30 years. Same as trimming all your over hang of extra Glass. A new utility blade makes quick work of trimming excess while it's in that warming up faze.its not wet, and it's not cured hard yet.

Wonderful video Dakota. I’ll be repairing the stress cracks on my HMMWV soon. These have been really helpful. I’m thinking of just ‘DREMELing’ the cracks into grooves and using a mix of fiber mat confetti and poly resin to fill it in and then sand down. Your idea of using wire mesh and wax paper is great, I would have used multiple aluminum foil layers to get the mold shape and duct tape to give it strength on the outside, or maybe even painters tape.

Your comment about 82% got my attention and reminded me to subscribe. Good info here thank you for all the insights. I’m actively looking and will hopefully land one in the next couple of weeks from here in the US. How long does it take to receive after initial EUC etc is finished and sent?

Hey Dakota, on one of your shorts with the tan HMMWV making all the beautiful turbo noises I few of us were wondering what the tire and wheel size combo is? I’m getting ready to buy tires and wheels next week and would love to know sizes.

Nice work! How do you like the doors? I have a set that just got installed. It was a bit difficult to get the strikers to work properly. The doors would just pop open going down the road.....
