Edit 1 day later...WOW! This little comment sure lit people up! I never said that the 11 team didn't have a right to celebrate the victory. Obviously they had every right to celebrate. I also never said that they knew what Newmans condition was during their time of victory celebration. I also never said anything about any of the various teams, drivers or manufacturers being better than any of the others. I have my favorites and others have theirs. I also never made any political statements. I have my views and others have theirs. That's a right that we have as Americans. 6 6 You can say that praying is doing nothing if it makes you feel better, but we both know you’d be doing it yourself if you ever thought your life was in danger. You can’t openly admit that, of course, because doing so would take courage, which you don’t have because you are lost, but it really makes no difference if you admit it or not. What matters is that you know deep down inside, just as well as I do, that what I said is true, and there’s absolutely no doubt that you do. We both know that if you only had seconds left to live, you’d most definitely apologize to God for the ignorance and blasphemy you’ve spewed, all for the sake of hopefully being seen by other people as the edgy rebel that you want them to think you are. Unfortunately for you, you won’t be able to say that you never had the opportunity to acknowledge the truth, if you end up waiting until it’s too late, but, if that happens, I seriously hope your sad attempt to look cool on the Internet will have been worth it to you. Unfortunately, it appears as though that attempt didn’t even succeed, anyway, which means there was absolutely no benefit to it, whatsoever, and that makes it even worse. In my opinion, at least, the fact that you failed so miserably, and yet got nothing out of it, at all, is the saddest, most pathetic part about it. To be honest, I’d probably feel kind of bad for you if you didn’t deserve it, but, you do, so, nah. Better luck next time. God bless.

Newman’s crash almost looks worse than dales and he’s walking 2 days later, goes to show how much safety equipment is in those things
@michaelault93344 жыл бұрын
Maybe I'm too closed minded but I don't how you take the danger out of getting hit in the window net at 190mph. The fact that Ryan did survive is a testament to the improvements nascar has made in their cars.
@bsabes57504 жыл бұрын
Michael Ault it’s not really a 190mph hit. It’s the net difference in the two vehicles speed. First car at 160 mph, second car at 195 = a 35 mph hit.

k Sheehan with the next gen car the driver is a little more centered. Not completely in the center but a couple more inches.

i think its safe to say that all of these damned stage races and mandatory caution flags for no reason but to form everyone up for a bad wreck only ten laps later are to blame, and that its a good time to get rid of those gimmicks. no more green checkered, no more cautions for no reason, no more advertising wrecks. no more

Been a Roush fan since the early 2000's, was really hoping that he could've won. I will say, I didn't think it could get any more classic than the Wyndham Rewards car, but it did. I know Folgers was his original sponsor, but that Koch Industries scheme is BADASS and puts that car back in Mark Martin blue. Hope he ccontinues to race as Roush has a real strong team this year.

Ryan has been in the Hospital almost two days and we still don’t know what his injuries are. Nascar has set the race up that a drive is willing to run through another driver in the last lap even if it kills him. It’s all on NASCAR. Ryan Blaney run through Newman to try to win. Let’s find out what Ryan’s injuries are instead of Dale Earnhardt dying ok.

A lot of inexperienced young drivers in Nascar now. That's a big problem on these tracks. They don't have the maturity and patience the older guys do.
@Krangkus4 жыл бұрын
Patience doesn't exist when you're going 200mph, football field in a second fast, last lap of the Daytona 500. Things move too fast for all of the front drivers to calculate and make the best possible move last 5 seconds when fighting for a win.
@tmcorey14 жыл бұрын
nitrodjinn Not true. In the 90’s, drivers would race for hours straight with no cautions and never wreck. They realized that wrecking doesn’t pay. Only finishing does. These kids today can’t run 10 laps without wrecking half the field. Ridiculous. The last 6 laps, that’s when it’s time to go, but with finishing in mind. Not wrecking everything you’re in.
@Krangkus4 жыл бұрын
@@tmcorey1 And that's how these drivers raced. Last 16 laps it was a mad dash to the win. You can tell they weren't trying to wreck anybody, just rookie mistakes, but they've got to start somewhere. Logano got a big run and he bump drafted, unfortunately, Keselowski was in front and he got turned. Chastain was 10 mph faster and the 37 blocked too late. Blaney was caught loose by Denny and went low, and at that point when he was blocked it was simply too late, not Blaney's fault he got blocked. He was going to push Newman to the win but they got caught in the wrong spot and locked bumpers. And you forget how uneventful the first 2 stages were. There was one caution after 59 laps of nothing but clean racing, and he was turned by a driver who had been in the sport for around 10 years. The second wreck a rookie was turned by Aric Almirola, a 12-year veteran. They race hours without caution these days, too, just this ending was a bit more aggressive and rightfully so.
@tmcorey14 жыл бұрын
nitrodjinn In the 80’s and 90’s, there were no “the big one” where 20 cars were demolished. I recall a big one monday night, just like every other 500 for the last 20 years. They need to learn that to finish first, first you must finish. Being on a wrecker with 20 laps to go don’t get the big check or the trophy.
@Krangkus4 жыл бұрын
@@tmcorey1 You're entirely right, the "big one" is a recent event. But I think it's unreasonable to blame these on rookies or young drivers all of the time. They have to get started somehow in the cup series.

Think they were all driving over thier heads the whole race the risk factor was more than pretty high it was off the charts, bumping all through the corners, swerving all over the track, i mean nothing wrong with being aggressive but it was just insane how they were driving, it's a miracle that there wasn't more bad wrecks or more people getting hurt i called it while the race was on, I said if they keep driving like idiots somebody's going to get hurt and what happened?.?

Sure it means he will race again. Been a fan of the sport since 1975 and saw a lot of way worse wrecks at Daytona. Rodney Orr comes to mind back in 1994 during a practice run over in turn 2. This was 2 days after Neil Bonnett was killed in a practice crash. I would be willing to bet more than 90% of the kids posting on here have never even heard the name Rodney Orr.
