UP THE JOCKS! Finest line infantry soldiers in the world, with a reputation that goes before them. As Gen Gordon said to Wellington at Waterloo when Wellington complimented his Highlanders, "Damned forward fellows with a bayonet Wellington!" Absolutely. RESPECT to the Scottish soldiery from England! Many thanks to 3 Scots for playing, 'Glenduruel Highlanders,' the regimental march of the now defunct Liverpool Scottish Regt. No sight more noble than Highlanders on the march!

My Grandfather, Willie Ross joined the Royal Highland Regiment aka The Black Watch in Perth in February 1914, 6 months before the outbreak of World War 1. Although badly wounded he survived 4 years in the trenches of the Western Front . He returned home a very changed man and sadly took his own life in 1923 when my mother was just 2 years old. My Grandmother remarried and never spoke of Grand dad again. Thanks to the Ancestry website I have his army records available online, so I know about his service. Thanks Granda’ .

I was surprised by this video when I first saw it ... I was amazed by the bagpipe how it turned into a war machine in the hands of these soldiers, their pace accelerated, the rhythm, the melody, and the hardness of their bodies ... Everything changed and the bagpipes is adapted with them after I watched it in different scenes.. I thought it was a civilian machine to entertain and enjoy, but it proves to me that it can become a war machine that broadcasts the enthusiasm of fighting and discipline among soldiers ... It is truly a wonderful and amazing musical instrument.👏👏👏👏👍

Our Scottish soldiers don't need WMDs. The sound of the pipes and drums alone is enough to scare the shit out of any enemy and send them fleeing over the horizon. No wonder in WW1 when our regiments wore kilts when going into battle the Germans called them "The ladies from hell"!

Being US Marine (69 -72) I see there esprit de corps, there dedication to there nation.. and it breaks my heart that young fellas like this all over the world have to go and die for some dirt that some old idiot politician say is his..or wants to make some other ridiculous point.. why can't the leaders of all thes country lead by example.. Be at peace with what they have and quit trying to take what others have away.. These men should have good jobs and having drinks with friends.. chasing young girls, getting married, having children.. Instead of have to go and fight for things only the politicians want.. Scotland the brave! even the romans couldn't defeat them! George of the Lamont clan.

A very long time ago, I was a US Marine infantry officer and had the opportunity to participate on military exercises with the Royal Marines. They were superior soldiers and had good kit. But there weren't many of them given the size of the exercise. That could be for many reasons, but the fact is that the UK has been downsizing its military for decades while at the same time increasing its technology. But technology is not effective if you don't have the trained, experienced, and the number of personnel to take advantage of that technology. But there needs to be a balance between developing the UK's own technology and the defense of the UK and NATO. For example, the US is fully capable of developing its own advanced technologies, but the UK, Israel, and others at times produce better weapons than the US wants to pay to develop internally, and so the US buys all sorts of weapons from foreign partners and vice versa. I applaud the UK's decision to go it alone with a new 6th gen fighter. I believe it's called the Tempest. But it will take you 15 to 20 years to bring it to an operational capability and by then the US will be developing its 7th gen fighters and bombers, while China and Russia would be still working on refining their 5th and 6th gen fighters and bombers. I will say that the US obviously didn't invite partners into the NGAD or FA-XX or B-21 programs likely for the same reasons that we didn't allow any partners in on the F-22 program. The technology was too advanced to share with anyone. The F-35 program was unique in that the US shared virtually all of the F-35 technology to its partners. My guess is that the 6th gen technology is too advance to share and so the UK, EU, and Japan will be developing a 6th gen fighter with partners on their own. I'm sure that the US will share some technologies but not the ones that make the US the dominate 6th gen fighters and bombers in the world--at least not for now. But the US does have foreign providers for the NGAD, the FA-XX, and the B-21, but not the parts that gives away the critical technologies. I actually thought that the US would have developed at least the NGAD with foreign partners like with the F-35, but it didn't happen. Interestingly, Australia has expressed interest in buying B-21's. Given that the US and the UK are willing to share unclear submarine technology with Australia so they have their own nuclear submarine force, it's possible that the US may sell modified B-21 bombers to Australia. The US actually has a much closer relationship with the UK, but I don't think the UK has the defense budget to buy B-21 bombers. Right now the UK seems to me to be more focused on climate change, wokism, hate speech, and censoring speech than on the rights of the people or their military. I've been following UK politics closely and all I can say is RIP UK and it seems the US is not far behind your failures.
