I totally agree! I'm watching just that episode right now and it's one of Jocks most iconic words in the series. I've got the Dallas dvd box and I'm going to have an all seasons marathon for the third time 😅 I really miss that show 🙌 It's my best childhood memory! Jock was a hell of an actor! But my favourite character is of course J.R Ewing 😂 He's the best actor ever!

@@peacethroughstrength172 Yes, women were seen, not heard, and never did they ever go against their husbands. like Miss Ellie said in one episode to Jock, "You believe the woman's place is 2 steps behind the man, except when walking through a minefield." What a show, what great actresses and actors they had. RIP Barbara (Miss Ellie), Jock, (Jim Davis), JR (Larry Hagman), Cliff Barnes, (Ken Kercheval), and everyone else from this fantastic show that have passed.
He looked down at Sue Ellen after saying that. He must have been thinking of Dusty Farlow.

I agree, the show lost a lot of momentum when he passed away. I have to wonder if the series would have lasted longer if he was present throughout the whole run of the show. I think it's the main reason why the producers carried on so long with the fight for control of Ewing oil between Bobby and J.R. in the following season.

It's a shame Donna's relationships within the Ewing family was never really fully developed. She was the cool, calm, collected one among the more passionate and emotionally-driven Ewing women, but that temperance was never really utilized to create conflict or strengthen bonds with her sisters-in-law. She was Ellie's best friend, but her relationships with both Sue Ellen and Pam were never of prime importance in who Donna was; instead, she was part of a couple, her stories primarily revolving around her marriage to Ray. It made sense that Donna was an "outsider" so to speak, and above involving herself with Sue Ellen and Pam's emotional rollercoaster rides, but women's interrelationships were not really a major part of Dallas' fabric, which was first and foremost a masculine show. Donna would have benefited from KNOTS LANDING's approach in examining female relationships.
