Aside from inspiration, I'm a novice singer songwriter tiptoeing the heartfelt emotions in your songs, we're very much alike... awww the lovely lovely damien rice, i cannot say his name without calling him lovely twice lol his music got me through some very tough times in the past, but i am beginning to smile at my past, just like damien seems to be doing. cannot wait for london in 9 days time, seeing him perform live will be tremendous, but the new album looks to be a stunner, the songs i have heard so far have been gorgeous, and i have watched a few live performances of his recent tours on here, what a magical performer, just lovely =)

I've had regrets downloading entire albums from artists on ITunes. I've liked a few songs, thinking there's more genius there to be had, only to be disappointed. But "My Favourite Faded Fantasy" is not one of them. I listen to it everyday, great job. Really well done.

Coming back seven years later to love your process and say thanks. Ive done a lot, seen a lot of shows but to date, no one touches you in houston. I forget the dates but i believe they were 2009 and a decade later, in 2019. I was different, entirely, as expected, in 2019. But i was transported to her then and also fully aware of how she grew, seemingly, in stride with your new works. Unreal. Otherwordly like music at its best can make us feel. I guess you COULD say she crushed his heart by finally leaving but it was his fault in the first place. Apparently back around 2006/2007 when they were on the '9' tour, Damien became a bit disenchanted with the "music industry" which led to random outbursts of anger...verbal, not physical of course. Eventually he said/did something that was the final straw and she left. He's talked about this a few times in interviews, saying he had a lot of growing up to do and such. That's probably the reason it took so long for him to finally unleash his third album. I know he recorded quite a few albums worth of tracks in Iceland and maybe 1 or 2 other locations between '9' and 'My Favourite Faded Fantasy' but ended up trashing pretty much all of it. Such a shame considering "What If I'm Wrong?" (my personal favorite song of his and, in my opinion, his finest lyrics ever) was recorded during those other sessions. Man, I'd still kill to have the full studio version of that track.
