In 5 years time it could be Antoine Dupont who takes the title of rugby's GOAT. But for now, in our eyes, its D.C. Do you agree? 👇

If Dupont wins the Olympics, 6 nations and Euro Cup with Toulouse, being another time the best player of the tournamentS, next year he'll be considered already as the GOAT 🐐 But Carter is something man...

@@francoisrolland7847 team accomplishments should not necessarily define whether an individual player is great or not. For example, Sergio Parisse lost over 100 test matches! Nobody would argue that Parisse is a legend of the game though. For what its worth, I think that Dupont has the best ALL ROUND game we have seen in the professional era. But that doesn't necessarily make him the best ever player. After all, Lionel Messi is rightfully regarded as the best footballer of all time but there are countless others with a more rounded skillset. Messi is the gamebreaker though. The ace in the pack. I believe it is how the player rises to the biggest of occasions and whether they repeatedly deliver moments of magic or brilliance for their team throughout their career that determine whether they are great or not. Carter and McCaw did that for over a decade. Dupont has been doing that for 5 years.

@@rustyfeatherstone93 thanks mate for your comment 🙂 Even if Dupont was losing everything, I would still consider him one of the greatest leaders and skilled rugbymen of all time. Dupont has been a leader and winner for the past 8-9 years (not 5) and Parisse is not in my top 10 : 1. Carter 2. Lomu, 3. McCaw, 4. O'Driscoll, 5. Dupont, 6. Habana, 7. Blanco, 8. Wilkinson, 9. Dusautoir, 10. Montgomery but It's true that he's a true legend even if he lost more games than a lot of players

In my opinion, he is the best rugby player in the flyhalf position of all time and I don't think that in the next 100 years there will be a player as talented in this position as Dan Carter. I am lucky to be contemporary with them and to have seen him throughout his fabulous career in so many memorable matches. Hats off and I bow deeply to the rugby player Dan Carter!

I this position I think I agree - B.B has come close? Jonny Wilkinson was pretty special. D.C is currently my GOAT but Dupont is just superb in every way - does he have a weakness? 🤔

Also I tend to agree…Dupont has the trajectory to be the greatest of all time but he’s not quite there yet - a few more years at this level then we can have a discussion 😂What he’s lacking obviously is international silverware in 15’s. But does this really matter? 🤔
@rustyfeatherstone936 ай бұрын
I don't think silverware matters if we are comparing the talent of players, within reason. Dupont and Carter have different skillsets. I tend to agree that Dupont is a (slightly) more rounded player than Carter but that doesn't necessarily equal better. There are aspects of Carter's game such as his blistering pace and defence that get forgotten about because the rest of his game was so polished.

DuPont must finish the Grand Slam on high note.Not the half compare as goat...?
@Adam-oy4ix5 ай бұрын
yes....yes it does. Carter completely controlled the world cup final in 2015. The All Blacks won so many games because of Carter over the years - huge games and huge trophies....noone else comes close to him in the #10.

What a player! Shame he’s not in the game anymore…could probably still do a job 😂
