Hey Dan, Thanks for great content! it made me discover Hunter as an athlete and understand a bit better the HYROX hype. Thanks to that i got myself new pair of gym shoes ! I was a long time CENTR member back in 2019-2021 - switch things around had few injuries & some breaks ... now ready to crush it again. Thanks for the inspiration Bro!

Looking forward to learning more about Hyrox and how to train. Currently training 5-6 times a week and adjusting to be optimal. One thing I struggle with is a balance of running, boot camp classes and weight lifting. Have you done any blogs or postings on you current work out scheme?
@danchurchillcooks2 ай бұрын
Gday Eric! This is definitely one of the bigger challenges of Hybrid training. Balancing the right amount of types of workouts whilst still giving your body enough time to recover. Ill put something together in the newsletter, but in principle in the first episode I wanted to emphasise the importance of finding your weakness. From there i would look at your week and focus more on that in the first phase of your training. For example... i am working on absolute strength and speed so i have more strength workouts in this first phase than engine or metcon specific workouts. Specifically i am doing 2 quality run sessions (track intervals) and 5 strength sessions where my training is no more than 5 reps to build absolute strength. This is just a start, but ill get something up for you legend

@@danchurchillcooks gotcha, the weakness part is a good point from the first part of the series. I need to really focus on that part. Getting back into shape as I have been overweight most of my life. Getting my relationship with food in check and being physical makes me feel so alive! Thanks for the content and once I get a grip on my weakness other then pull-ups… I did run my first 5 miles this past Sat as a baseline, Saturdays are my run days at zone 1-2. Keep grinding

Nice on mate, greetings from the homeland🇦🇺. How many sets per body part a week do you do or have programmed in? Asking as I’m getting back into hybrid work, doing 3x full body a week and 3-4 x cardio sesh’s and I’m trying to find a good balance for my resistance work to maintain my muscle mass
@danchurchillcooks2 ай бұрын
Gday legend!!!! love another koala on here. Mate really good question. So in the first episode I outlined identifying your weakness to then comprehend the strategy for your program design. So for me, my issue is not my cardio base, it is my absolute strength and absolute speed. I have broken my program into three phases, where the first phase is working 70% on my weakness. So when i look at my week... i am doing the majority of the work in the weight room and speed work on the track. So it reads like this: Monday AM: Easy jog Monday PM: Upper Strength Tuesday AM: Speed work Tuesday PM: Lower strength Wednesday AM: easy jog Wednesday PM: Metcon Thursday AM: off Thursday PM: Upper Strength Friday AM: Speed work Friday PM: Off Saturday AM: long Run Saturday PM: Lower Strength So right now i am getting two major strength work outs in both upper and lower... two speed sessions... only 1 metcon... and then a some base running. but the focus right now is my absolute strength and speed. To convert that to what you are doing.. it is 3-4 sessions in the gym and around 3 easy cardio with 2 speed... It also depends on your current level of recovery and how your body is feeling Was this helpful legend?

@danchurchillcooks2 ай бұрын
If it is a long run i do... but that is just on Saturdays. I typically take a hydration complex. BPN has a mix called G1M Sport which incorporates carbohydrates and electrolytes. That way I can get both the energy and the electrolytes. How do you do with food before a workout?
