Dooku sneezed a highly experienced master Kenobi out of a 2v1 twice. This same Kenobi far beyond the one that blitzed maul and destroyed his lightsaber before losing his flow. That same Kenobi held off Anakin long enough for Anakin to slip up. Maul is good against regular Jedi, but not top tier Jedi that aren't tired from age.

Dave Filoni took the time to come out during an interview and state that in the original script for “Twilight Of The Apprentice”: Maul was originally supposed to duel Vader at first, instead of Ahsoka, upon his arrival, while putting up a good fight, it would have resulted in Vader killing Maul, as a testament to his power, but they deemed that ending for Maul’s character arc to be insufficient in the eyes of the fans. Hence the post-alterations. I LOVE Maul, but Maul had no chance, and even HE knew it.

When Kenobi was a padawan he neaded Jin to fight Maul, when Kenobi was a Master, Maul neaded Savadge to fight Kenobi, Kenobi evolved from padawan who colud bearly use the Force, to one of the only jedi that colud become one with the Force.

Here's the difference for me. Maul's anger and hatred is external, he hates other things and people, which can lessen and change as time goes on. Vader hates himself for turning on the Jedi, Obi-wan, and mostly for, according to Palpatine, killing Padme and their unborn child. That self hatred never changes and fuels Vader's link to the dark side. Vader's power is much greater as a result.

It's not close at all... Darth Vader would probably stomp three Mauls at the same time easily. Remember when Sidious was ragdolling Maul and Savage at the same time with the force and was toying with them? I'm quite sure that Vader could do exactly the same thing if he wanted to. Difference between Vader and Sidious is closer than between Vader and Maul. (though the timeline matters. Vader would always win, but he is way more powerful during RotJ than after RotS)

One quick statement. On mustafar he isnt vader, hes anakin. A heavily conflicted person, weakoned by a mix of unclear emotions. The strongest version of vader is him in the jedi temple, and its heavily implied that he is more powerful than anyone at the time in that moment.

Anakin on mustafar is more comprable to anakin during his fight against dooku at the start of the film, whereas anakin in the temple is more comprable to windu or palpatine in terms of power. Yes he is vader in the literal sense on mustafar, but narratively speaking, hes anakin in that moment

Keep up the great videos! The only part of the series I would disagree with is when you talk about Anakin. Yes he lost a lot of physical force potential, but I believe a lot of that was Anakin being cocky. Vader, in his suit, learned and adjusted. He mastered his abilities that he could use. I think peak Vader is the Vader we see. He had to be humbled.

the difference is the emperor healed Vader and helped him move on and become stronger but he didn't bother to help Maul, you have to pick the moment right. maul on Naboo fighting jin and Obiwan and getting cut in half and Vader on Mustafar fighting Obiwan and being left on the lava beach. maul kept himself alive and managed to sort of come back in spider droid form where as Vader was picked up and helped to recover. maul didn't grow after that defeat but Vader had more training from the emperor after that.

Ahsoka’s statement about Maul was “The way you’re fighting, you wouldn’t last long against Anakin.” This clearly shows that Maul was holding back for almost the entirety of their fight. Think about it; the last time Ahsoka knew Anakin fought someone was in season 5 against Barris. Barris obviously being stronger than Ahsoka at that point while she was going all out. There is nothing in season 7 that proves Ahsoka get that much more powerful after season 5. Maul wad holding back so heavily that he was just above padawan level. A weaker Maul in season 5 is literally Sidious level while both clearly going all out near the end of their fight; I would argue that since Sidious was toying with Maul that he had a significant advantage.

Darth Vader fought an identical clone of maul crafted by sidious used to test if Vader is still a worthy apprentice after ROTS! Very hard to tell if your using cannon or legends Vader because they are quite a bit different. I like the video but it just was not clear which one your using for this battle. If it’s cannon then maul loses extremely hard and even admits to that in rebels. If it’s legends then it’s closer but by time of rotj Vader would most likely still take it. Vader cannon wins like 9.5/10

The outcome would be determined by when this takes place. If it's a few months or even weeks after Vader received the suit, he is losing; even regular experienced jedi would be a problem for him at that point. If we're talking about post Rebels Vader? Maul stands no chance. Vader is more powerful, skilled, experienced and patient than before. I would even argue that as powerful as Anakin might have been, Vader would beat his past version just as Obi-Wan did: by being more experienced and having a higher control of his capabilities. Vader did lose much of his power when he put on the suit, the problem is most people fall under the incorrect assumption that he never got it back...

Vader is better lightsaber duelist, he is more powerfull in the Force and Maul stands no chanse against him, Vader reached 80% power of Sidious he still lost to Sidious, while Maul with Savadge together lost to Sidious, and Vader won against clone of Maul, that was not Maul, but also that was not Vader at full power, Vader has weeknes with his device on his chest, but Maul is not Kenobi and would not be abele to use that against him ... Vader is brute force whereas Maul is like a dancing shadow, the films or clone wars dont do him justice he was fast enough to keep up with Sidious, this is a tough one! They both love the thrill of a duel with the saber, you see that in clone wars when he kills pre visla he never used the force once.
