CORRECTION: Blue Marvel didn’t just ‘suddenly’ have powers out of no where. He was working on an antimatter project and his friend (Who became Anti-Man) got trapped in the antimatter device. It then exploded affecting both of them and THEN gave them supernatural powers and abilities.

If we're being realistic here, Shazam should be at least 1% more powerful than Superman because with all of the powers he has from the 7 Gods, He's actually Cracked. But because Superman is Superman, Shazam never really has access to the Wisdom of Solomon and instead always has the wisdom of Billy himself making Shazam out as a Man-child. In reality, Solomons Wisdom should always help him get the upper hand in a fight and always make him the smartest person in the room. Realistically, Superman should actually have a 40/60 chance at beating him but again, He's Superman so Shazam will always be extremely overlooked and downplayed to lose 99% of the time.

Shazam actually was more popular than Superman when he was created by Faucet Comics. DC even sued Faucet Comics to get them to stop the publishing the comic because they said he was a ripoff of Superman. He is an original hero with a different power set. Shazam is not a superman copy, nothing of his history, abilities, or skills are in anyway the same as Superman. DC hated Captain Marvel/Shazam because he outsold Superman. And had a movie before Superman. To the point DC took Kingdom come comics to court in order to sue them for copying. The judge ruled that DC does not have a monopoly on heros with strength, flight, and speed. Since getting him, DC has made Captain Marvel a joke and it pisses me off.

Where do you think the: "Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tale buildings in a single bound!" ...thing came from? Captain Marvel shows up, is exactly how he's always been with the transformation and powers of the Gods and is outselling Superman. Even after "updating" Superman's powers to be more in line with Captain Marvel (who was out towing planets around at this point) by giving him super senses, heat vision, freeze breath, flight and x-ray vision, Captain Marvel was STILL outselling DC's Superman. So they sued Fawcett and claimed copywrite breaches (despite having no grounds aside from their recently pre-established patent on their new character representation). The case was dragged out, it's likely some bribery from the much larger DC took place and Fawcett couldn't afford to keep their sales up because all their profits were going to legal fees. Eventually, Fawcett ran out of money and had to cave. It didn't matter when the courts ruled that DC didn't have a patented right to the "Superman powerset" (for lack of a better term), Fawcett was already on its way down and were forced to sell the rights to Captain Marvel to DC to stay afloat - which only lasted for a little while anyway before they went bankrupt.

It was shown in the sentry limited series that the serum should’ve killed anyone who drank it but it it miraculously worked on sentry without killing him. It was shown in that comic that anyone who tried to replicate the serum and took it was turned to dust. Even a guy went back in time and took one of the viles that had the serum in it and drank it and it vaporized him. Literally no one else could’ve drank the serum and survived aside from Robert.

I saw The Sentry at 2 on the thumbnail and I had to see who was number 1 over a self resurrecting, telepathic reality warper. You got me good. That was smooth. Too many people think Blue Marvel won that fight. Yes, he knocked a weakened Sentry that also didn't know of and could control his reality warping into orbit. You all ignore that he immediately comes right back down and leaves BM face down, cheeks up. Even Kevin Grevioux, Blue Marvel's creator, stated that he's not more powerful than Sentry because it would hurt his story. Sentry was weakened from Antimatter while Void was amped from it and wasn't using hus full power, and STILL slumped BM. Think about that.

From his speed, The Flash,Quicksilver and various others speedsters were created, from his optic lasers, Cyclops was created, Ice Breath, Iceman, Killer Frost were created and from his strength and durability way too many to mention. Lotta people don’t really understand Shazam/Captain Marvel. I’m talking about the OG Captain Marvel. And I know we’re looking at a general version not specific ones over the entire spectrum of the character. But what people seem to forget is that, or don’t know, he actually flew before superman. He had Marvel breath, his version of cold breath. He could vibrate his body so fast he could pass through solid objects. He is technically immortal. Zeus him self said Shazam cannot die unless he says die. His strength is infinite, his speed is infinite, his endurance and stamina are infinite. He’s clairvoyant which is like Spidey sense to the thousandth power. He knows his opponents weaknesses and strengths before he even faces off with them. he can get counsel from the gods themselves. And he has more than just strength of atlas. Or the courage of Achilles. He actually has multiple abilities from some of these people like the fighting prowess and ability of Achilles. Unfortunately things like the power of Zeus are so ill defined it’s ridiculous. And depending on the iteration, he’s learned that his transformation is based upon intent and not only how to control his lightning, but do use it as a weapon not just by calling it down by shooting it from his body. There’s a reason why Black Adam is such a feared opponent. He is the evil version of Shazam. And I believe Shazam could potentially be even more powerful. The truth is Shazam should be able to take on everyone of these, even the Sentury. Because when he utilizes his power of Zeus and potentially even magic as talked to him by the wizard Shazam, he would be unstoppable, a literal God himself.

He didn't beat Sentry smfh. The Sentry left him face down, a$$ up at the end of that fight with Wonder Man stating Sentry as the winner. The Sentry was even weakened from Antimatter and was at a time before he knew of and could control his reality warping, and STILL knocked him out. Even BM's own creator, Kevin Grevioux, stated that he's not more powerful than Sentry because it would hurt his story. The Sentry is a self resurrecting, telepathic reality warper. Think about that. The facts are plain to see.

Just to be clear, Captain Marvel ( that's his name, not Shazam) is not a copycat Superman. He was created in the era of world war 2. The reason why everyone may think that is because Captain Marvel proved to be more popular than Superman. Detective comics was not going to allow their most popular hero to be outdone. So it was a lawsuit and faucet comics lost . If that law suit was today, it would have never happened. Because the 2 characters are nowhere near being mistaken for the other. But if want to know who is a superman copycat, her name is Wonder Woman. Her original name was going to be "Superman the wonder woman".

I’m not an expert on him, but is he that powerful without the void taking over also? Because if so, I would like to see a world war hulk vs Superman comparison because he fought the sentry to a standstill, and powered up even more directly afterwards to the point he caused earthquakes with a step and was still intelligent. That’s the one storyline that gives hulk a fighting chance in the intelligence department, and allows him to showcase his wicked potential. Dude Solo’s the fantastic 4, almost the entire X men roster, outsmarted juggernaut, destroyed the inhumans, battered blackbolt, knocked ghost rider out and even the spirit of vengeance said this isn’t my fight and rode away. But Superman is faster or something is how that fight will go. An intelligent, super pissed off hulk like that would be a damn good fight for most Superman variations, but there’s always one where he snorts a line of pure unfiltered solar radiation off the core of the sun or something and becomes absolutely invincible 😂 sorry I’m still just pissed about how the mcu has disrespected hulk over and over again. Based on what's described here alone.... Kinda got the vibe that the Plutonian should be rated higher than The Gladiator. That said, neat list. Maybe there could be a Part 2, considering how many more Superman expies there are out there. Like say Metro Man, The Utopian, Astro City's Samaritan and Supreme to mention a few.
