Imagine a tiny universe coiled up so small that to their eyes, light takes a whole year to span the distance between two atoms. To see the universe as such a fractal, multi-layered, potentially infinite thing, to know that entire universes gloriously burst to life and slowly die a trillion year freezing death in the time it takes you to blink... and perhaps within those universes... other life forms.... Realising this (given it's actually true) and being able to visit all the different stacking universes, freezing time in some but then just leaving them behind and watching them all die in an instant... and being able to change things on an atomic level like a lucid dream... oh man... you'd do more than disassociate. Yeah, the way I read it was that once Manhattan regained consciousness, and gained the ability to manipulate matter, he also gained the ability to manipulate time and thus stepped out of the time line to educate himself about the way the universe works. That would happen so much faster than a human swinging a knife... A little bit like in hitchhikers guide to the galaxy when Deep Thought had deduced the existence of rice pudding and income tax before anyone managed to turn it off.

Exactly. Dr Manhattan was designed as a commentary on the stupidity of superheroes in the issue of power creep. His power is meant to be absolute. But that's necessary because it also kind of shows him as going insane - or what we would see as going insane, when in reality, he is just dissociated from humanity after spending the equivalent of billions of years in omnipotence. All he really wants at that point is peace and tranquility. This is exactly what you would expect from a real person who went through what he did. Each of the characters in the watchmen was designed in this way, to make commentary about a specific comic book stereotype. Rorschach is a commentary on Bruce who is basically a psychopath who thinks himself superior to human laws even though his moral code is just whatever he feels like in the moment. Spectre is a commentary on hyper sexyalized female superheroes who ends up getting raped. And also has consensual sex with a beta male. The One Thing I notice when comparing similar characters from the Marvel and DC Universes, is that Marvel tends to put Limits on the Majority of their Characters, they have Flaws and Weaknesses, and Achilles Heel if you will, while in the DC Universe, they tend to be even more Over the Top than their Marvel Counterpart. I find that the Majority of these Battles between the Two Super Powered Universes, DC wins Most of the Time.

I agree that Dr M would mop the floor with the Surfer but I feel like that’s more because the Surfer has only a portion of the cosmic power and not all of it. If he did have all, it would be a closer battle. I also always loved the Silver Surfer vs Cable in the Cable and Deadpool series when Cable was no longer being held back by the techno organic virus and was basically X-man at that point. X-man is a multiverse threat too and the Surfer and Cable were basically going toe to toe in battle with neither necessarily gaining an advantage but also rebuilding all the destruction they caused instantly after they caused it. Pretty impressive. Still… probably Dr. M wins.

Good video, I wanted to address 1 thing which is the closeness in which the battle has, dr manhattan is strong but the silver surfer is just as strong being that half of the time the silver surfer isn’t fighting with the intention to win the fight, that just not how the silver surfer operates. He really is pacifist most of the time and most of the time just operates under a moral compass. He quite tepee opposite of dr manhattan which makes the battle a little more clear, dr manhattan is very straight forward and is at full power at all times being that he is his own source of power and really can do whatever he wants, now where I am going to with this, the real reason the silver surfer would lose ( and I say would because he can win) this fight is because dr manhattan tends to his problems right there and then and doesn’t make room for mistakes, if he wants u gone ur gone and that’s that but it all comes down to how much this fight means to the silver surfer, if he really needs to win the fight then he isn’t losing. Atomic disintegration, time manipulation and even just power to power, the silver surfer always overcomes his foes because with the “power cosmic I can do anything “.

So actually he can defeat you before the fight even started by literally punching you from the future. Saitama was a character that was meant to fight even upper dimensional beings. This includes fifth dimensional beings. Now if you do not understand what this means I will explain it simply. Beings that exist in higher dimensions can warp dimensions in lower ones. Since Saitama can compete with higher dimensional beings, it shows he is capable of resisting their abilities as well. Why do you think tatsumaki was unable to just fling him into space? She explained that his will power was so powerful that she could not overpower him. This proves Saitama's abilties is not limited to simply physical attack and defense. Another reason why people are clueless about why he's such a powerful character despite his basic appearance.

He was specifically created as an unbeatable character and gained the title "The strongest". For whatever reason, Saitama can never be beaten. Though I wish they would elaborate more as to why.

Pffffft. Dr. M seems more linked to deterministic/mechanistic aspects of reality, and the Power Cosmic includes all that PLUS the metaphysical, mystical, cosmic dimensions of reality. In the end, Surfer is linked to more than just the physical and quantum realm. And sure, Manhattan can reset his universe, but the Marvel universe is more complex, with mystic realms and abstract entities. And I think if Manhattan and Surfer came to loggerheads, in the end Dr. M would be in for surprises that transcend “just” quantum mechanics and physics. Great video.
