Daniel is not just a musician. He is an evolving artist. Who wouldve thought what he'll become? He started as an angsty kid and have evolve as an amazing artist. For some fans, his new music might be cringyAF but for me, I liked it and I really admire his versatility (talking about the Qantas and My mind's own melody). Tbh, i prefer old school rock, prog and metal but can't deny the fact that he is really good in anything he does regardless of genre. Having the courage to do what makes him happy is admirable and as a hardcore Silverchair fan since the 90s...I am in no position to judge him. Will always be a fan of his artistry.

With reference to songs like Suicidal Dream, I can imagine Daniel being bullied a lot early on partly because he would have had a lot of attention from girls even before the fame. His looks, playing guitar, singing his own songs and others, very endearing, deep and without an outgoing personality or self assurance to match the attention. The Alpha types would have probably hated him for it and he wasn’t into sport either.

THIS is the Daniel I love. I don't mean to sound like a bad fan, but I really have a hard time believing what he's become. Not just physically, but as a person, he seems way too different. Like a completely different human being. I know that people change, but it seems too drastic with him.

I actually think he is still quite good-looking, but you're right. His personality as well as his music have changed so much. I'm about the same age as him, and I can still relate to the teenager that I was. It seems like he's just abandoned his former self and become someone else entirely.

+Meredith Harrison i agree. :/ i don't like his new music but do i support him, yes of course. I'm glad he's happy and doing what he wants to do but i feel ya.... I've never seen anyone change as drastically as him. I figured it was impossible for someone to change. People say they do but seems like they never really do, but Daniel, he's defiantly a exception. I can't even really relate to him anymore which is sad, but least he's happy and well. That's all that matters i suppose. Tho i do miss the grungy long-haired boys I've loved growing up, but I've just accepted the fact they r long gone and aren't coming back... sad but true. :/

I always felt that danie's guitar playing came from a more heavier playing, bands like helmet, lifetime, quicksand, and more from a hardcore tone guitar oriented. other than nirvana or soundgarden and all those amazing bands.
