And the actress for Bellatrix, Helena Bonham Carter. As for Miriam Margolyes (Professor Sprout), she stated her stance is 'if you haven't cut it off, you're not a woman'. While Rowling and myself only partially agree with that, it still sounds to me like Margolyes isn't advocating against JK's efforts.

My aunt is gay and totally anti “pride”. She says she doesn’t need a parade, just to live a normal life with the woman she loves. Now people are making their sexuality their entire identity, no personality beyond their identity. It’s a dangerous movement, praying we come out the other side of this sooner than later. The political riptide of all of this is insane.
@jimmycarpenter6612
@jimmycarpenter6612 16 күн бұрын
Exactly. Most gay people I've met care nothing about the whole pride movement. They go to work, hang out with friends, love who they love just like everyone else. No reason to make it such a big deal because it really isn't. If the only important thing about a person is who they like sleeping with, they have a pretty sad existence and it kinda explains why most are so unhinged.

Trans is not a thing, the people who are confused are fine and can exist and we as a society should help them to be comfortable with the body they are given and stop taking advantage of these people for monetary gain. Gender is intrinsically linked to your sex and you can not switch between the two groups no matter how much an individual make want to based on preferences for stereotypical feminine/masculine roles.

Well, I see "transitioning" as wholly utilitarian, strictly social and cosmetic, ofcourse sex can not be changed, but outward appearance can. Men and women have different directives, as in needs and wants, they are also treated differently, and have different expectations put on them. Not everybody is happy with the gender roles, and expectations ascribed to them based on their sex, so what happens if a man wants to live a woman's life, and vice versa, they technically can......apart from reproductive bit ofcourse. They, however, should not generally be considered the opposite sex, not medically, and absolutely not for sports, and not for the bathrooms. Socially, as in pronoun usage, well, just go with the guts, or use whatever gets the desired result. Also, Female-formed male, and male-formed female should be used instead of trans-terminology.......far less confusing and far more precise, and these terms don't imply they are the opposite sex. Think I was being balanced and rational, but it's probably an unpopular opinion that piss off both sides🤣

When Marsha hooked up with a dude she always said several times, "You know I'm a boy, right?" Todays transpretenders do not represent LGBT. Some gays are afraid of being canceled and losing their jobs. But we old homoSEXuals (not cis, not afabs, not queer)can speak up. Only women are women. Anyone can abuse you. Your experience was 2 men. Unfortunately, that has manifested inside you a trauma/fear of all men. Eventhough, MEN are not the cause of your trauma, but instead the type of person who abused you. That type of person could also be a woman.. You would greatly benefit from understanding that it wasn't their gender/sex that hurt you. But instead was a horrible person with a trauma of their own that was projected onto you.. Be careful not to allow your own trauma to cause trauma onto someone else, another innocent person that you use to be. You could become your own abuser.

I always use this analogy to see if the logic follows: Say a white person was robbed at gun point twice, both by black youths. Would that white person then be justified in saying "I realize that list black people would not harm me but after being robbed twice at gun point both times by black people, I am terrified to black people and I would rather be stuck in the woods with a bear than an black person." If that sounds racist then you sound misandrist. If a white person is expected to swallow their trauma as to not discriminate against black people, then I don't understand why women can't do the same for men. Either that or white people often have a real justification for their fear of black people and just like men are told to be considerate of the trauma women often experience at the hands of men, black people need to be considerate of the trauma white people often experience at the hands of black people... Trauma is real but it can only justify so much. It certainly doesn't justify generalizing.

I am Finnish and I am used to wandering around alone in the forests - picking mushrooms, berries etc. - and if you asked me if I wanted to be stuck in the forest alone with a man or a bear I would answer that it depends on the bear and the man.. Usually bears avoid people, so even if there was one, as a humanbeing you would propably not see the bear. It would smell you from afar and maybe quietly observe you without you never knowing about it. Only if the bear was with baby bears or somehow mentally damaged, it might be dangerous to you. The mother bears are very protective when it comes to their babies, so they can be very dangerous if you end up between the mom and the babies. And then, if we are talking about being stuck in a forest with a man, if the man is a normal wellbehaving humanbeing, forest is big, we can both fit there at the same time. But if the man has somekind of mental issues and is dangerous to other humans, then ofcourse not. So my answer is that both man and a bear are ok as long as neither of them have any mental issues - or it is a mama bear with her babies she will protect no matter what. 😊

The problem that makes it difficult to come back from the trans sypport is the truth claim that trans "are" what they claim to be. It's hard to have a nuanced approach with such a strong, clear-cut, black and white claim. Any recognition of de-transitioners immediately destroys that claim. It makes it impossible to have a nuanced claim because it doesn't allow any room for debate or an alternative.

I have had so many positive interactions with children that aren't mine that I often wished I could sustain another human in my life financially. You cannot relate to biological women, they are entirely different from trans women. People need to accept that. Good on jk rowling for standing her ground. This helps lesbian and gay people (such as me) as well, because it also maintains the true meaning of our sexualities. I wouldn't be gay if I was into females would I? A trans man is still a female with many things that will never change about them. This applies if you are straight too, you should not have to be called transphobic for not wanting to date a trans women as a man. You'd be dating a male.

Regarding the man vs bear question: First, it's a very loaded question. I honestly thought man first, but seeing that fear of women who said bear. Because man = woods, instantly gives serial k1ll3r vibes. I mean... if they were assaulted before, I can see it! It's very telling. But if SA isn't even a part of the equation, obviously man. Even the hypothetical idea of being alone with a strange man in the woods is terrifying to me. Like fight-or-flight response. I could MAYBE scare the bear off. Make myself look bigger. Throw rocks. Yell. If the man in the woods means me harm, NONE of that is going to help me. And there is NO way to know what the strange man's intentions are beforehand. He's a stranger. That's the point. Bear. Hands down, no question. If anyone wants to say man, that's up to them. But my answer is set in stone.

I still choose bear, I live near bears and it's really not as scary as most people make it out to be-that typically live in cities. I know most men wouldn't be dangerous, but we're talking about a man that his having multiple of his needs not met and in a desperate situation. There may be a struggle for resources, people can become animalistic in certain situations when they otherwise wouldn't in others. Bears won't always try to harm you, a lot of times it also depends on the situation. But I can certainly say that I'd never let my guard down around one because it wouldn't befriend me under false pretenses, it's big and doesn't have the element of surprise. If it was a group of people, then that's different. Or maybe someone of strong moral conviction. But if Chris hedges books have taught me anything it's that people will change entirely when they're put in desperate and dangerous situations. It's truly a "I just don't know" scenario. I'll always know where I stand with a bear. Not to mention, if I escape a bear, it loses interest and will move on. If I get stuck with the wrong man, he won't lose interest. My only option is to kill him and I'd rather not do that. I'm under no false impression that I can overpower a man. Maybe outsmart a couple times but overall, I'd be toast.

Not sure who's gonna see this but I just gotta say, this whole man or bear debate is so stupid. When I first heard the question, my immediate thought was that I'd rather be trapped in the woods or "stuck" with a bear. It seemed pretty obvious to me just because you're less likely to even be attacked by a bear than you are to be attacked by some random man you don't even know who you're suddenly "stuck" in the forest with. It just seemed pretty obvious for me purely because I've been in multiple situations throughout my life where I was suddenly alone with a man who I did not feel safe with or who I actually wasn't safe with and sometimes that just happens and you can't prevent it. Even just situations where random men will come up to you on the street in the middle of the day when you're alone and get a little too close or a little too comfortable or even try to touch you for some reason. It just happens. But my thought with that question wasn't that all men are bad because I don't believe that, it's obviously not true because I have a lot of really good men in my life that I know I'm safe with. I'm just saying I think whoever first asked that question was really unfair in the way they posed the question and unfair for only asking women that. The question is asked in a way that intentionally traps the person answering. By using words like "stuck" or "trapped" people like me who have actually been in uncomfortable or dangerous situation with random people don't hear those words and assume good things especially when the person asking the question also says "a man" instead of elaborating on who that man might be. Because if the question was, "would you rather be stuck in the forest with a bear or your dad/husband/brother/friend," then obviously I'd choose the latter? I don't know, that question seems like it's asked in a way to trap the person answering and make them out to be a bad person when in reality, I've been camping every year since I was about 5 and I've actually run into bears in the woods on more than one occasion and nothing ever happened. The bear didn't even care for my existence. So when I'm asked a stupid question like that then yes I'd rather be "trapped" in the forest with a bear than a random man that I don't know because if you have any fckn smarts at all or experience then you know not to be a dumbass and intentionally put yourself in a situation where you're gonna be alone with some random guy who's probably bigger than you and you aren't a mind reader so even though you know all men aren't bad, you also can't fckn read minds and know who someone really is or their intentions. Just a dumbass fckn question.

Radcliffe doesn't owe her his opinions thats true but that isn't the problem, he owes her respect, and what he did wrong wasn't to disagree with her, he took her comments knowing her and that she would never be transphobic and sided with the trans activists community against her when they twisted her comments into something completely unrecognisable from what she originally said or intended to say. He didn't stand by her side and say hey you guys have got it all wrong that isn't what jk said. Instead he jumped on their bandwagon, crucified the woman who brought him out of obscurity which is where most child actors stay and lets face it have you seen his work since h.p? He would still be in obscurity if not for her, and then he used that crucifixion and the lives of young children not knowledgeable about what they were asking for, not knowing what they were doing to themselves and used it to boost his own image and career. This man is the worst type of human being and Rowling really is right to not want anything to do with him or Emma Watson. Im sure thers others on that bandwagon but unlike Radcliffe when im unsure of something i keep my mouth shut until i know better so i won't lump anyone else in that basket with him and watson but if any of the others are reading this and they know who they are then im ashamed of you too

Here another way to look at it: Pick Bear: I can find a way to kill the bear, then I would have meat to eat, skins to make a blanket or a rug from, tallow (fat) to make candles from, bones to make tools, buttons from, etc... but feel lonely from lack of human connection. Pick man: Companionship in all things, and we could work together to find solutions to our problems, and to provide for our needs.

We can’t assume the man will be benign or that the bear will be a killer though ‘the bear could kll and eat me’ vs ‘the guy could imprison, torture, SA and starve me or kll me’. Worst case scenarios on both sides. That’s what you’d need to weigh up. Which would be easier to avoid? Also you have to compare context as well. Saying ‘a bear will definitely kill me’ vs ‘statistics say most men won’t harm me’ Is apples and oranges. Most bear encounters actually don’t result in an attack. Guy I know has been a hunter all his life, we talked about this, he said he’s had encounters with at least two hundred bears, and only was worried once, when a hungry big black bear, which will eat you, followed him for a while. He charged it and it fled, but he said it was a calculated risk, he was a savvy woodsman and knew that the bear was probably working himself up to get him and woukd only get more interested if he kept retreating, and if he tripped or ran he would be in trouble, so he acted quickly and scared it off first. He actually said you have more chance of being struck by lightning than attacked by a bear. I can see why people are divided based on their experiences. To me, a bear is an abstract concept. I’m sure they are terrifying if charging you but I’ve never seen it. I also know that the brown bears and even grizzlies are omnivores and hibernate, and if well fed and not provoked will usually avoid people. Whereas I’ve had terrible experiences at the hands of men by the simple expedience of being there; the most terrifying moments in my life to date are on men. Having said that, 30 years with a good one, I don’t hate men. I just know what they can be capable of and as I grew up in mad men times in my teens and 20s where it was normal to treat young women like meat, I was first that frightened at nine years of age, by a total stranger who followed me into a public toilet, so I know how bad they can be. But if say it was a tired old man vs a tired old bear, I’d probably choose the man because I’m still fit enough to run if I have to and he might be an ok guy anyway. If it was a well fed and sane bear though, vs an entitled, hot blooded, incel Taterhead, I’d definitely choose the bear.

@@ApacheMagic Like 95 percent of men wouldn't harm the women in that situation. Bears are dangerous, what if it's a Kodiak or a polar bear, I'd never pick that option.

Highly depends on what kind of bear. Black bear? No worries. Grizzly? hell no. Polar? I’m gonna go ahead and make peace with my maker. I will say that the man is more dangerous precisely because I don’t expect an attack. By the same virtue if I were a man, I’d be more worried if a woman wanted me dead than a bear. People are smart, resourceful, and hide their intentions far better than the black bears in my backyard 😂 it would also would weigh far more heavily on my conscience to hurt a person than a bear, even if for self defense. So I would not be defending myself with nearly as much gusto. And what’s my worst fear in either scenario? The bear will kill me for food. The man won’t kill me until he’s had his fun - assuming he doesn’t keep me in his basement. But I wouldn’t really want to run into a woman in the woods. Plenty of men have been put in awful situations by them.

Im gay and Im pissed. There was a time when everytime they added a letter to the lgbt, we were all mad and thought it was nonsensical and we would actually make fun of it. Until being an activist became popular now everyone is praising it. I literally looks like a flag trying to force itself into another flag, taking all the space. DEI needs their own flag and leave the pride flag alone. DEI is the religion.
