As this is a legal channel, it is interesting to note that the title to the video is completely wrong. He clearly states that his hotel was in Ras Al Khaimah, not Abu Dhabi. Ironically this type of mistake was rather the cause of the original complaint by the caller…..

While you can do a lot of it yourself much cheaper, and easily these days, there is some protection with a holiday package. If something goes wrong while you're out there, a decent travel agent will look after you as you have contracted with them for an entire holiday experience. Definitely worth considering for big trips like honeymoons or weddings

Going through a travel agent is supposed to remove the need to google and double check things. If the travel agent said it's in Dubai, then you're paying them extra to make sure it's not in Wales.

Personally I have little sympathy. It took Daniel Barnett 30 seconds on the internet (whilst on-air) to see that Ras Al K is not in Dubai or near the Palm resort. The caller could have done this himself and challenged the travel agent well before the honeymoon thereby saving all the upset he had. Ras Al K is half the price of Dubai so I guess this £5,000 honeymoon cost fitted his budget. I would also like to here the story from the side of the travel agent.

'Find me a cheap 5-star hotel near Dubai' will have a different response to 'Find me a cheap 5-star hotel within a 10 minute drive from the Palm Resort. I've been to Dubai and to Ras-Al-K and the hotels at RAK are less than half the price of those in Dubai. I think the guy was motivated more by cost than location, and kicked-up a fuss because his new wife was upset...!

I think he's a cheapskate who wanted a fancy but cheap hotel and the he got caught out. It you tell an agent that you want a hotel in London and they book you one in Wimbledon then you can't complain that you're 45 minutes from Buckingham Palace...

Number 1: You were lucky! RAK is so much nicer… Dubai is just a city. Number 2: RAK is 45 minutes away. On one straight road. Number 3: Do your research and You Tube it before you spend any money on any item. Tit! I live in RAK and work in Dubai. Because it’s better… So stop talking bollocks! People that live and work in Dubai, go to RAK for the weekend. This guy is a chancer! During peak times you can get from Dubai airport to RAK in the same time or less than it takes to get from Dubai Airport to Jumierah Palm.
