Can you please do a video about callers who called back later to say how they got on?

What gym is stupid enough to offer a fixed price membership forever? Also, who was paying £56 a month for gym membership back in 2008?

There are some exclusive gyms today that charge over £400 per month. £56 in 2008 is just an expensive gym membership but not unheard of. It's not what most people pay but it's certainly there.

That's the point, they paid a larger amount for a 'fixed price', sharing the risk of future price rises with the gym. Weighed against the fact that most people wouldn't actually keep the membership for this long.

Also a lot of clubs when they first open have a founding members rate for the first ‘x’ amount of people that sign up. Often the incentive is that it is discounted or will never go up.

Nice gyms around here are around £100 a month which includes access to the spa and things like that.

It reminds me a little of the "Lifetime Guarantee" I once came across on a pen. It was the lifetime of the pen and not the purchaser and if the pen broke, the lifetime was over.

No way can any company follow through on this “life time” deal.

I have an online PT membership and client membership for financial advice... Both companies have honoured their annual fixed price for over 10 years now.

She's done well to have stretched it out to 17 years. Any lifetime membership/subscription/upgrades programme I've ever joined has resulted in the company going out of business within 3-5 years..... soon followed by a re-launch and much higher prices!

And there lies the crunch, are you seriously going to spend hundreds or possibly thousands pursuing your claim. Very few things if any come with a guarantee of costs never rising.
