We sit with voice actor Danielle Bisutti to talk about Freya and how she was able to bring the character to life in both the 2018 God of War video game and God of War Ragnarok. Danielle has been part of the #GodofWar franchise since the 2018 God of War game, and her portrayal of Freya has been phenomenal and has seen quite the evolution since. People who think/say "Kratos didn't fear her, he didn't want to kill her" definitely forget one clear fact: It's still VERY intimidating and threatening enough: if she attacks them unprepared! Remember: Kratos and Atreus also have to sleep, rest, eat, recover, survive Fimbulwinter! They can't ever catch a break or relax - especially if she's always at their throat, and could attack at any given moment. It's a real constant risk and danger. Imagine the tension and anxiety from that. Not to mention Freya is dead set on killing them fighting full force, while they have to keep her alive fighting only half-force and somehow survive this, every time - which is a huge challenge by itself - for 3 long tough years!

Remember that Freya has had 3 years in between games of pure rage and vengaence lust to get it out of her system, so its not really rushed. Also rememeber that tge reason she decides to stop trying to kill Kratos is because of Atreus and because she tought Kratos is prophecized to kill Odin. Only later afrer sharing time together and listening to his story and his moral stances does she begin to sympathise with him and understand him, but even then she is never able to forgive him, just understand him.

Wasn't schooling him, Kratos was holding back. She's going to be a tough fight even if he wasn't. She even says in this interview that Kratos won't hurt her unless he absolutely must and even then would still try to restrain.
