I joined the golf team from my school about 3 months ago, not knowing anything about golf. I was really really bad, I started watching your videos and started to improve so much, I can finally hit my driver almost 200 yards when I couldn’t even hit it 2 months ago. My coach just invited me to a varsity tournament earlier this week, and I’m really looking forward to it. Thank you for everything!

Danny, My son just graduated university and asked me to teach him the game of golf; my heart leapt with excitement. Then I realized the challenge before us. Your body of instruction videos along with the content on your website are invaluable to us duffers of all ages. Love your videos, one thing that completely changed my swing was realizing a controlled swing goes further and straighter than trying to smash it. It’s hard to see the distance needed and not want to try to crush it, but knowing it’s not necessary has been a game changer.

Great lessons Danny. My back was in rancid condition yesterday and today so I had to do a lot of those gentler, softer approaches to hitting the ball - barely swung driver. I’m a 63 year old, 17 handicapper and I hit almost every fairway and did a 91 then 86. I’m never going back to swinging like a lunatic again. My back will love me😊.

There is no difference in the basics, what ever age. Find sound routines, stick with what works and for Pete’s sake, stop watching a bunch of golf experts, it only add to confusion. Good luck to your 9 year old. And one more thing, help making it fun to play golf, it’s a game for a lifetime.

Wow Danny! What a nice lesson. I have been playing to a 9 handicap from the senior tees. For the last 3 months I have been inconsistent playing +5 more strokes. Swinging too hard. Lack of confidence. I have wanted to reconstruct my swing to get more consistency. I am going to take this lesson to the range and work on getting my swing under control to get better contact. Once I get more comfortable with my contact and distance I will increase my swing speed with more control. Thank you for the great lesson.

Great stuff. I used similar process for my range practice this year. Gained crazy distance and impact. When I struggle now I slow down and really try to chip 150 yards. It's really the same as practicing chipping but using my lower body. Its amazing to see my 9iron which used to go 115-130 now go 150-170. Now this was helped with gym work as well. Late in the fall I played a hole where I used to use my 6-7 iron last year and sometimes 5iron. I decided to use my 9iron go to front of green. My 9iron rolled out to 170 and it carried the bunkers and hit green. To carry bunkers is 160 :) can't wait to next year to continue this journey.

@@DanielMaudeBecause of the weather, i haven’t had a lot of time to try this out. In the short time i have had i had the tendency to hit the ball left. Note I am left handed playing golf right handed. What I think is happening is I am not getting my weight to the front foot quick enough and my mind senses this and my left hand takes over and closes the club rather than hitting it to the right. When the weather improves, I will wear my hack motion and see what is happening with my left wrist. What is your take?

I love your videos but still find myself hitting the ground before the ball. I had an idea to put a wooden rail on the ground in front of the mat aligned at about 5 degrees or so to the right of the target. Then I set up square to the target but align back of hand and club face with the board at setup. I then push back of hand and club face away on this line as far as possible, complete backswing and then make sure I hit through the ball exactly on this line. Just using this swing thought I am now hitting the ball better usually with a gentle draw to the target. I find it a great visual aid. Hope this makes sense. What do you think?
