They have same level overall as players however Tsitsipas is not effectively adapting his game to Medvedev. His fillet game which makes 30% of his game he has not adapted to play with Medvedev who is fast and has long hands and bug legs. So he plays at 70%. Otherwise he will have to adapt his fillet game with some changes to be able to complete his expected points, by completing better the points, and then play his usual game adapted to a fast huge guy, or he will have to change game and incorporate drop shots. Until now it is same thing every time, he does not play his game his 30% if game gets useless. Do either improve his fillet or put drop shots

Honestly, Stef didn't do much wrong winning a set against the best or second best player on hard court nowadays. But I'd say he should use more dropshots against a guy that stands far back, even if it's Daniil and he can get to the ball, it's probably a better position to win the point than rallying on the baseline. Also, I'm pretty sure Stef's strength is playing across court left and right. Everytime it gets into that scenario, he has the advantage, his shots are perfect for short cross court angles. And everytime I see him starting a rally with straight shots, it's kinda shaky, because he's not the most consistent at playing long baseline shots.

Medvedev doesn't have the hardest shots or the best placement but damn he is a ball machine. He hardly misses at all, even from 10 meters behind the baseline.

His great point against Tsitsipas apart from.the apparent mental emotional thing that affects both since the start, is that he is very fast and has huge legs and hands so makes the 30% of Tsitsipas game since Tsitsipas is 70 base 30 fillet player useless. Tsitsipas will have to adapt his fillet game to someone who is fast and huge by completing better, or otherwise he will really have to develop other parts of the game that he is not working on and is not using in his game, like focusing on drop shots. Also Medvedev has a little better Stamina. This may also be because of Tsitsipas.mot have played properly for many many months ever since Rolland garros he was not training properly, so his body is not at this top notch level of Medvedev.

It is to bit part mental since secretly Tsitsipas is angry constantly as well with Medvedev, but is also bad strategy if Tsitsipas. He always thinks that his usual game adapted to Medvedev. However his 30% fillet game, without adaptation is useless to someone so fast with huge legs and hands. And then has only 70% of his game to play. He should either find way to adapt his game for someone fast and huge, by changing the way he completes fillet points, or he will have to put new dimensions to his game which he does not work on up to now. So either improved fillet accuracy or start to learn drop shots. Drop shots it's the other way and Medvedev knows them well while Tsitsipas is not good at them and has to put alot of work on them.

Daniil has more than a decent chance against Rafa, but might have to cover some stuff up in his game to prevail. He returns so deep and remains there unless he finds a flattable ball, which Rafa will rarely give him if the roof is open with lots of top spin. This might lead to Nadal drop-shotting Meddy multiple times, considering Rafa is among the best drop shotters at this stage of his career. Also, he plays a rythmic, baseliner tennis that Rafa just loves to play against, unlike unexpected ball destroyers like Fognini, Shapo and even Verdasco. Although Meddy is one of the 2 best hard courters of these years, Rafa managed to beat him BO3, BO5, indoors and outdoors. I am expecting a block buster final, one that could go either way, but i will give a 51-49 edge in favor of Rafa just because of him knowing this is most likely his last shot at another AO title, and i expect him to do everything in his power to make it happen. i believe coaching should be allowed. At a minimum between sets. But since its not allowed, its not allowed for everyone the same. Tsitsipas' biggest problem is his mental strength and its continuous stability, so i understand the reason of him needing the talk, but they should have already worked and solved that problem. its sad that he lost so hard at the end, cause i was watching the match for the first 2 and a half sets and it was extremely good tennis being played from both sides. as a greek though i have to say that medvedev is playing great and with great stability in his games and he definitely didnt deserve the booing, nobody deserves taht unless they have done things to deserve it...

The ref in the end acted like a nervous teenager in front of the beautiful lady couldn't choose the way to give the hand to Danya. Be a man, shake it normally like you did with Tsitsipas! Don't show you are so touched by the argumented critics or something...

Keyboard warriors still trying to tell me volleying isn't important anymore in the modern game, but if Tsitsipas were a good volleyer he would have won the first set 2:30, and possibly the whole match. McEnroe and Edberg (and almost any other pro player of the 1980s) would have converted that volley with their eyes shut.

I hope Medvedev got some kind of telling off for speaking to the umpire like that. Their energy and tension levels must be so high in a match like this one

Tsitsipas was out of energy in the last set, which was the 4th one. Completely different play to his first set. He has to improve his fitness. He probably knows but it does not come overnight and his fitness was very bad at end of last year. So there is improvement.

Medvedev is the only capable of the "youngs", to defeat Nadal and Djokovic in the Grand Slams...he did it with Nole some months ago and hope he beats Nadal
