This was a great f***ing movie. As a hardcore Saw fan, and having gone to the theaters to see all but the first film, this was a great movie in this Franchise, especially with the return of some fan favorite characters. I really wish Jigsaw would have done better because I actually loved that particular movie, and always wanted a direct sequel to it, especially after waiting 7 years for a new movie at that time. Spiral wasn't all that bad, and would have been nice to have seen it continued as well because Chris Rock did an awesome f***ing job in it, especially considering it wasn't his normal type of movie that he usually does, which is one of the reasons why I loved him in it so much.

@@yippykiyay89 Everyone had their own opinions on it. I thought it was okay, not great, but okay, mainly because of Chris Rock's character, but I know most people did not care for it. I've always liked anything to do with the Franchise of Saw, as a whole, even the 2 video games that were made, so I'm just a big fan of the Franchise, which is the only reason I probably liked it.

@@song7087 I love the gore! Lol. Seriously though, I'm now 44 years old, but didn't actually start watching horror movies, but especially anything with gore in them, until 2004, after I watched the 2004 remake of Dawn Of The Dead. The scene near the end of the movie where the chick gets that chainsaw into her shoulder/chest is what really got me watching more gore in movies, or rather, more movies with gore in them. After that, I never could understand why I didn't watch stuff like that when I was younger, or rather, why I couldn't tolerate it when I was younger. Funny how things change. Give the Saw movies a chance though, you won't be disappointed, and they may even help you break being able to stomach the gore. If those can't, then nothing can. Lol. They really are great movies though, seriously.

I think all the core actors in the movie deserve more credit here, I actually thought they all did a really great job. Not just Tobin and Shawnee, but the four in the main trap room too. Even though we were meant to somewhat be rooting against them, they were all still played very believably and put some oomph into their performances that I feel like I haven’t seen in most of the previous Saw films

Yeah this was a series all-timer in terms of overall performance quality. Parker Sears was the only character I thought was kind of ....I don't know the word. But something about the way he said some of his lines was really cheesy and unnatural. Especially stuff like "They fell for the whole damn thing, hook, line, and sinker" But even the kid did extremely well, even for the small amount of time he had. Everyone was excellent all-around... except, again, Parker Sears, whoever played him.

@@randomkillerx2157The other character, sure. But Jigsaw looking older is believable. Cancer treatment does weird things to your body. Six months ago I had a completely white beard and had white body hair and the Reed Richards grey temples. Now my hair and beard are fully black again. Interesting thought that saw X, being a horror sequel that ignores all previous existing entries and is a direct sequel to the original, almost makes you wonder if they’ll finally split off into another timeline like Halloween did. Too early to say for certain, but the franchise decision to kill off jigsaw, which was supposed to end the franchise, always seem to cripple it, so it’ll be interesting to see where they go from here. Tobin Bell continues to be the best part of these movies, so all for it. Of course, Saw has always had a weird enough timeline that they can just do whatever the hell they want.

For me, Gabriela was the highlight when it comes to acting. Amanda was a caricature of herself. Not because of her age, but just the way she acted. The traps were all fine, but I missed the layers of the plot, and the plot twist was not really there in my opinion...

I agree. While Tobin Bell gave his best performance, it didn't FEEL like a Saw movie to me. It felt like a character study tuned into a Saw movie by writers who weren't familiar with the hallmarks of the series. I appreciate character development, but the way they handled it here felt off to me. Jigsaw is the mastermind of the series but that's why he's never had the most screen time. In Saw 2 he had some (not TOO much like here) but they still built tension w/ Matthews in a compelling way. Not here. Criminal masterminds lurk in the background, not front and center. The connectivity and episodic tie ins--and layered plot--were missing. Tension was pretty low throughout, except in a couple of the traps. Also, the ending was kind of a letdown. Unfortunately, while Bell did his best acting, Shawnee Smith did some of her worst. My take, anyway. PS I am not hating, I love Saw 1,3, and 6 most.

I'm a huge fan of the series and Saw X is freaking awful. No twist (don't tell me that the lame "twist" in this one counts), no cops on Jigsaw's trail (removes all tension), and the ages of Jigsaw and Amanda are ridiculous. Maybe people that don't like the series will like this more. I'm as dumbfounded at the praise for this one as I am at the praise for Scream VI (a series I also like, but hated that entry).

I hate when reviewer bomb movies for their rub time. A clean cut 90? I’d be curious to see what you’d cut it out. I could maybe see cutting 5 minutes out from bits here and there. But everything felt very appropriate. I felt the cinematography was beautiful and even removing one of those scenes would’ve thrown the movie off. Performance from the entire cast was a 10/10. The story itself 9/10. Traps 9.5/10, run time 10/10. Yeah it’s two hour but you can binge a 10 episode Netflix series with each episode being 55 minutes. You can sit thru a two hour movie that does the franchise honor. The movie is a must see and absolutely my new favorite saw. Number one hands down. And jigsaw saying “to hell” in Spanish is everything you need 😊 From somebody who struggles through health challenges, the story hit my core. I’ve been gooped by doctors, they capitalized on my hope that left my body worst than it was before. So there were point I legit found myself in tears.

Did you know that they were supposed to two more Saw sequels after 6, but they chickened out because Paranormal Activity outperformed 6? All they had to do was make that one sequel to tie up all loose ends, so I don’t see it as a Catch-22. What I want is why they can’t finish up the Dr. Gordon story because that loose end never tied up. They know it. We know it. This film is ridiculous, John the sadist with his moralising and self righteous speeches walking into the sunset like he is some kind of hero. I wanted him to suffer and get justice for his torturing of people. I wanted Cecilia to teach him a lesson once and for all. I was on her side. Because it always comes down to the punishments he enforces never fits the crime. He is a killer who deserves no redemption or sympathy.
