When my daughter moved out, she left a lot of her stuff. Whenever she came home, I’d ask her to go through her stuff and decide what she want to keep or donate. She kept blowing me off. So when she made the decision to do a move to another state, I loaded up two of her suitcases with the stuff threw it on the UHaul truck. When she got to her new place in Fl. She was livid with me! Too bad! It wasn’t up to me to decide what was and was not important to her.

🤣 my mom just said "why haven't I thought of that yet?" 😆 That's brilliant!!!! My mom says she likes the way you think lol. Hey, you gave her plenty of opportunities, sometimes you got to do what you got to do lol. My Mom feels the exact same way as you, she never really threw any of our stuff out because she didn't know what we would want to keep or wouldn't want to keep, but she sure does wish she would have thought of your idea along time ago ha! Luv this comment! Thank you so much for sharing, watching and being here with us, we appreciate you so much 🥰

@@danniraearranged she has Md pics from cheerleading, certificates. Soccer trophies, and every single prom dress. It was during COVID and no one was taking stuff. I would have liked to donate her prom dresses to a high school for a young lady that was invited but couldn’t afford a dress. But schools weren’t even having classes, much less proms.

They could scan all these photos and then display them in a digital picture frame! My parents have one and every couple seconds it changes to a different picture, this way your mom and dad could actually appreciate and enjoy these photos than having them packed away in boxes. That will be a long process since there is so many but a few at a time until you have them all digital would work. That’s also great for preserving them in case the originals get damaged.

Once I started I couldnt stop, it was like a weight lifted off of me, I could never imagine going back to how it was, and exactly like you said, once you build those muscles, you see more and more leave. Very true! I think my mom is a lot like me, things that we've held onto for a very long time or items passed down to us, we create such an emotional attachment to and in return causes us to be hesitant in letting those items go. But its comments and encouragment that we receive from you and everyone here, that keeps us motivated! You're the best luv and we appreciate you so much! Hugs xoxoxo 🥰

Yay! Feels like Christmas morning! So much fun and worth the wait! You're mom is doing great letting go. I'm noticing in each video that it's getting easier for her. 😊 Regarding the pictures, my grandmother lived with me growing up which meant I accumulated tons of pictures and frames from all the family members i.e. school pics, weddings, you name it. Made albums for each family to cut down on all the frames. When she passed away, was able to present each family with their album. The frames are a good donate item. I like the idea of your mom keeping the toys upstairs in the closet. Designate the closet for toys and gifts and wrapping paper, gift bags etc. Keep everything in one closet. Scissors, tape and greeting cards. Everything is together in an organized space. If there is a special day coming up, she can first shop the closet! I picked up at the dollar store a small plastic bin (wider/shorter than a shoebox) and have dividers for birthday, kids birthday, anniversary, get well, sympathy, thank you and blank. I love cards, so an easy way for me to manage my supply and never need to run to the store at the last minute. If I find a perfect card for someone I add a post-it that stands above i.e. 7-22 Carl b-day Looking forward to your next adventure!

Its Christmas in July 🎄HA. Too funny you mentioned that, Ive been saying that too, I feel like she removes more ever video, I too think its getting easier for her! Its awesome, im so proud of her! What a super AWESOME idea, getting rid/donating most the frames but making photos albums each family or occasion! That is such a sweet gift, I love photos and photo albums there one of my most treasured items, so that would be the best gift EVER for me! very sweet! Yes I agree, I think keeping all the items you listed, in 1 spot, Id like to use the closet in my brothers old room, for all of those items. I feel like there's too much stuff scattered everywhere, its so much easier when everything is with like items/in there permanent homes. I have to mention this, you are so much like my mom and I, we are BIG card givers! We give cards for literally every occasion. I too have a bin where I divided up my cards. I love cards! I got that from my mom, who got that from her mom,there both big card givers. And like you said its nice to have those on hand, just in case, than you dont have to rush and run out and get a card. Appreciate you so much Ann, always so HAPPY to see you here with us! Hugs 🥰🥰

I was laughing with you. My sister and I have had the same conversation for years.I declutter and organize a closet, Slowly it fills up again. I was giving her more room for more stuff. So I quit trying. My dad passed away in 1992. She can’t stand the thought of getting rid of awards and plaques he got over his working years. The grandchildren don’t want them. I always tell her, when you breathe your last breath your daughter’s will hire someone to haul all this “crap” to the dump. She agrees.

Thats a tough situation, Its like on one hand you want to help and/or continue to help, but then on the other hand, when they start to accumulate more or continue to fill spaces, Im sure its like a "whyyyyy?" moment LOL. It can be a tough situation with loved ones, and I totally get that its hard to let go of items passed down to us or items we've held onto for a long time, I know that sentimental items are the absolute hardest for me and for my mom its definitely certain things, like towels or shoes 🤣 but like you said, where is this stuff ultimately going to end up, most likely in the dump. Sometimes just putting that out there and being honest is a big eye opener, ive had so many eye opener moments where there were things that I may not wanted to hear, but absolutely needed to hear and it helped me to keep moving forward. Hey Danielle, I'm like your mom got so many photos, I even inherited my mom's and aunts photos I don't know what to do with them all! I see dvd's in the background I want to get rid of them but no one will take them we just don't watch them anymore and I'm tired of looking at them. Your mom is funny like you! that was funny your mom trying to stop the video lol! Did you know the name doily comes from the name of a London dry goods seller named Doiley in the 17th century that's the short story lol!

Oh my gosh my parents have soooo many photos and photo albums, I do too, but not nearly as many as her, then again, like you, my parents inherited a ton of photos from my uncle and grandmother who passed a couple years back, but my mom has literally (get this) grocery, yes grocery bags, full of photos in her bedroom closet. She keeps telling me that shes going to put them in photo albums, 15 years later...lol there still in bags, oddly enough there not in bad condition, not sure how? But my parents also have their own photo albums. All of those DVDs in that room, that whole wall in my old bedroom, those were all my uncles 😲 My dad wont get rid of them, im trying to talk to him about it and hopefully let some go. Him and his brother were best friends, so his stuff is hard to let go of, but I totally get you with the DVDs, I dont keep them anymore. I always thought I got my sense of humor from my dad, but I think i mat have been wrong LOL shes a pretty funny lady HA And I had no idea about the doily, how interesting, you learn something new every day. Appreciate ya so much dear, always so HAPPY to see you here with me 🥰🥰

We all used those magnetic photo albums. Later they said they weren't good for the pictures and we should remove.
@michelesusanne12 жыл бұрын
Yes, we should remove photos from those books, they are not acid free and over time, it yellows the photos.

Awwww thank you! I was super nervous about the lavender, it didn't turn out exactly the way I thought it would 😆 but it is a really pretty color, if I had the guts I do my whole head lavender. Always so happy to see you here with me thank you so much for watching xo

Watching now comment later!!! OMG I just heard it Danielle. I think the command center would be an excellent idea for you and your mom. Totally customize to where it works for you and your family. I can't wait to see how you do it and how it comes out. Every family is different so make it work for you girl. I love the shout out girl!!! 😘😘 Love ya lady!!! P.S. can you do an update on how her cabinet in the master bathroom is holding up on the organization you did on it? I'm curious on how that is going? Your mom is so sweet!!!
@danniraearranged2 жыл бұрын
YAY!!! Im so happy you seen the shout out whoop whoop! I give credit where credits due, and that was most definitely a brilliant idea, that was not my idea LOL! I was thinking a command center for my mom would be awesome! Her closet is leveled LOL Ill probably get hers done before mine. Ian has to figure out how to customize the bottom of our closet, so far what we've tried wasnt working, well then again we tried 1 thing 😆 but I really really want to get that command center done, so I can get rid of all my junk drawers and random stuff in random places and just put everything in 1 spot. I should update on the bathroom cabinet at my parents house, I havent even checked it out in a while, now im curious LOL Luv ya lady! 🥰🥰😘

@@danniraearranged awesome!!! Getting things in one place would be great. I'm so glad you liked the command center for an idea. Yes leveling the closet can be challenging. Now you know I wanted to paint my staircase wall, but the walls were up to 20 feet high. We were going to rent a scaffolding to do it but to do that would be 75 bucks plus renting a trailer another 25!! So instead my husband built a platform of stairs. He bought two stair looking wood panels and made a platform out of it to put the ladder on. So he saved over 70 dollards doing it that way. Genius move on his part so we painted the 20 foot walls. So I'm sure I am can level the closet, it just takes time. I'll send you a picture on IG to show you the stair thing. I think building the command center for your mom first is a great idea that way you can get a visual of what you want. Go for it!!!

OMG, the spit take! I laughed 'til I cried. And you finding a binder clip and putting it BACK after looking for a binder made me giggle. Kleenexes. Why is it always Kleenexes? Just make sure your Mom or Dad aren't hiding any removed fillings, baby teeth, or first hair cuts around there. Trust me, you do NOT want to be surprised by items like that. *shiver*
