I learned so much in this video thank you! Crockpot bag, cutting the juice out of the bag, finishing it in the oven, man now I am starving 😀

Dan, I use a croc pot often and started making Dump Meals (Prepare in advance and store in the freezer). This works for us because cooking for two can be challenging and this allows us to focus on family packs of chicken breast for additional savings. Four chicken breasts, a can of pineapple and some lemon juice makes a quick inexpensive meal (we divide it in two bags).

Hey Dan, Thank you for posting this. I'm making my first Boston Butt in my new Crock-Pot tomorrow, and I'll be using your recipe. Watching this made my mouth water, I can't wait to make it!! Thanks again, and you got a new sub!!

Yep, that’s classic Carolina bbq sauce. I live in the southern part of North Carolina and down here our bbq sauce is loaded with mustard and vinegar. When I lived up in the mountains of NC it was completely different. But I like it.

I like the tangy type sauce as a marinade and then a sweeter sauce as the final spread.

I definitely like to save some juice. I drain it all in a pan and skim the grease off the top

I’d like to put it on my Weber Kettle and smoke it instead of finishing it off in the oven. I like the smoke flavor. Thanks for the great video 👍🏽
@DansVlog4 жыл бұрын
That;s cool but meat doesn't take in smoke when it is cooked. It only takes in smoke for about the first hour, the rest of the time the meat is just cooking like in an oven and the wood is just being wasted. Smoke first, finish in oven is the proper way for a smoke ring in the meat. What your doing (no offense) is basically licking an ashtray for flavor. Your coating the meat with the smoke and thinking it is the wood flavor.

I put mustard on mine, pork rub and cook it in Coke for 6-8 hours before I take it out and shred. Today I cooked a Corn Beef Brisket in the crock pot. All I did was put brisket rub on it and put in the crock pot dry and cooked it on low for 10 hours. When I took the lid off it was almost covered in it's own juice

❤️❤️❤️ absolutely love your technique for Boston butt. This is going to be my forever go to for now on. Here’s a giggle for you… you tell your age when you call aluminum foil … “Tin foil”. Lol Young folks think it’s funny when I say “Hand me the Tin Foil”

Honestly, I never was a big "Smoke" flavor guy. I honestly like the taste of the meat and seasonings but not so much the smoke. I know, I am weird. lol
