You have no idea how much this came at the right time. Currently my home does not feel very (emotionally) safe and I need an escape. It's kind of ironic because I'm not the one who needs to be in therapy rn but this video brings comfort and I feel less alone which is what I need
@enderlauren72482 ай бұрын
I know exactly what you’re talking about. I hope you can find many comfort vices to make you feel better. Having people around you who won’t admit that they need help and harm you from it, and you feel like you can’t say anything without setting them off, The “I’m just the worst, huh?” when your just trying to inform them about something
@Xeyal10012 ай бұрын
I've heard it all today. The "I'm always the bad guy" after blowing up about something avoidable and people not immediately falling on their knees and admitting they're right. The "You never help me with anything" after actively refusing any and all help whenever offered (and only talking behind your back how you never do anything without ever expressing that to your face ever). The "You still love me right??" While crying after insulting and yelling at you about something blown way out of proportion for two to four hours, then having to comfort THEM while they insulted YOU because if you don't they will either become angry again or depressed about how you must hate them now. And that's only when they're mad, then it's the constant menaging of someone else's emotions and stress even though they're a full grown adult. Because again if you don't, enjoy the fighting, screaming, insults and feeling unsafe in your own home. I'm not exhausted at aaallll, what're you talking about.... ------------ This is def an overshare, I just needed to get it out of my system because living like this is so fkn hard sometimes and I wish I was done with it.
@Xeyal10012 ай бұрын
On a fun note: I've got some good comforts at least. I'm in a very healthy relationship where this doesn't happen and I feel safe and supported (and I can vent about these things) Good friends when I have contact with em. And stuff like Shaaba's videos and music help a lot to find that escape and comfort. I recommend cavetown, he's my favourite musician. I can always find peace and comfort in his music ❤ Also I hope you have it better as well. We share a certain kind of suffering but it's comforting to know that there are people who understand you. May you have good vices as well.

To answer your question about if there's more words like "disgruntled" that have archaic antonyms. As you saw with "combobulated", yes there are, but it's not every instance. For example, the opposite to "overwhelm" is not "whelm". They actually mean the same thing. It comes from sailor vocabulary, describe when the waves go over the deck of the ship and cause it to take on water. It's thought that people started saying "overwhelm" instead of just "whelm" to add emphasis, and "overwhelm" is the one that caught on in the world of dry land. There's actually a surprising number of words that have nautical origins, often in ways you'd never know unless you know a lot about boats, or you're a linguist (professional or amateur)
@erinjohnson73292 ай бұрын
5:45 "gruntled" is how you feel after a proper meal, and your tummy is happy and you could force more down, but have no urge to it, and 20 minutes from now you'll be happily napping but right now... you're just totally gruntled, man x

I'm definitely one of the "24 plates and up"-types at buffets, haha. When I lived in a different city there was a decently cheap all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant with one of those conveyor belts. There were only like 2 pieces of sushi on each tiny plate or a small bowl of wakame and stuff like that.. but I went there the few times my mom and her partner visited and the plates would stack up on our table like crazy. Good thing there was someone coming by regularly to take them away, because it would've been rather embarrassing otherwise. Kinda miss that restaurant.. my therapist invited me there as well on the very last session with him (probably because I talked about if multiple times, haha). Good times.

My "dick-dar" definitely works. Had two guys interested in me (god knows why) in the past year and with both I did not vibe at all with. They were decently nice, though a bit awkward and pushy to meet up. (They both live around the corner and I met them while walking my dog, but I have social anxiety and don't want to meet up with people I don't know, which I told them) I always told my best friend about them and he always said that they seem nice and that I should give them a chance, since some people tend to be awkward at first. Well.. with the first guy... I told him that I'm not interested in a romantic relationship & he assured me that he wasn't either (didn't stop him from calling me beautiful and stuff) and when he then said that we should get to know each other better, because we live so close and "a woman for a man and a man is for a woman" (??) I told him, first of all: I don't think so at all. Second of all: I am not a woman. He, of course was confused, but I explained that I'm neither (agender) but he kept on saying "No, you are a woman" and again that I'm pretty.. after trying to explain myself a few more times I just said that I can't deal with that anymore and I left. The second guy.. I mentioned that I have depression and he immediately said: "No, you don't." and "You don't look like it.".. me explaining that you can't see mental health problems did not help either. Most people's gut feeling is rather accurate. If someone really irks you, there is a reason. Something your subconscious picked up about their behaviour that makes you cautious.

Olive Garden and Applebee's are overrated. They're just not good. Try to stick with mom and pop type places over chains. Except for the Hooters in Costa Mesa, CA, their food is always delicious and they never treat my mom bad for being disabled, unlike other places. Even 5 star places don't treat my mom half as well as Hooters.
