As of July 2017, Darjeeling is experiencing much political unrest, due to their attempt to gain independence from West Bengal as Gorkhaland (which is what its predominant culture is). Thus, the town might be closed. Gangtok, Pelling and other neighboring cities in Sikkim are still open and safe. I will share a couple alternative options in the meanwhile, but this video needed to be posted. Darjeeling is a wonderful destination Sending prayers the government resolves issues peacefully and all Darjeeling residents there are safe.

it's such a great video... :) well Darjeeling is such a good place to travel...i heard they have a and also there are some states in Northeastern part of India such as Shillong, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur etc...these states have a lot of Natural beautiful places... I hope u visit any state that i have mention...also on the Upper part of India Like Himachal Pradesh, Manali (a small town in Himachal Pradesh Ladak, and some south indian states...

I've had a love affair with india for a while. Yup, Mumbai to Trivanandrum. South is beautiful- but I wasn't on KZbin at the time. I hope to return to film it. You southern? =D There's a video that gets misunderstood *a lot* by Indians. If you listen to what I'm really saying, I'm not hating on the negs. I'm trying to show *western* travelers how to approach culture shock in a more thoughtful way and less fearful way.

And agreed, a lot of stuff you stated has been misinterpreted as it's important to address some common problems for a foreign traveller so they're more prepared mentally. I guess it's just the defensive mindset of some Indians that might perceive your criticisms as negative but the fact that you've returned on another Indian adventure should erase those doubts because some people might have felt that you're just trying to throw the country in a negative shade and hence the backlash from our Indian viewers. I really hope you do a Southern Indian vlog in the future. I'm biased and I'll say the people are more friendlier and it's definitely more safer than North India. It's also way less chaotic compared to the North. I can recommend you so many places to visit but I'd assume you would've already made some research of your own so it'd probably be a futile attempt of mine to list all those places. Anyway, hope to see more of your Indian adventure videos. Take care and thanks for replying (:

Could you please kindly let me know the day you visited Ropeway. Because in your video at 07:40 there is a blue coloured roof house which belongs to me and my family and currently the home is empty because my mom and dad they are in U.K. and I'm in Hong kong with my family but I saw in your video 2 guys working in my home. So wanted to find out who they were and what they were doing in my home with whose permission. Thank you. For Momo's you should try Penang it's one of the best in darjeeling. So nezt time when you are planning to visit Darjeeling let me know I will help to you arrange everything so that you can enjoy darjeeling in a best way. I will be heading to Darjeeling in 2021 in the month of september so if you can come during that I can show you darjeeling all transport in darjeeling free of cost becuase we will be going in my car. Last but not the least do not worry about the political situation because the Party supremo is my cousin and have many of my friends in higher ranking government services and political parties.

I didn’t bring the tea home. I bought it for my Indian family in Varanasi. Generally packaged tea tends to be okay though.

Never bye one way ticket on ropeway because its very difficult to find transportation from down to bring you up. Besides I don't recommend the tourist to wander in down station as the village is not safe.
