Just last week I played my first game against Votann with my Lamenters, playing like Blood Angels. 1500pts, the game lasted two hours and two battle rounds. I got first turn, threw ten Death Company and 10 VanVets forward on turn one with a Whirlwind suppressing fire threw some pot shots at his Kin on objectives. His turn 1the Sagitaur wiped 4 VanVets out of a combat squad, the fifth miraculously passed morale, and took a wound on each squad of DC. my turn two the VanVets all but tabled the kin, taking a few kin with the DC shooting inferno pistols and my Eradicators dropping in out of reserves and bringing the Sag to 2 wounds, on the charge my VanVets made an 8" charge with my DC's 6" charge into one blob of kin, they minced the dwarves with power swords and lightning claws, as did the second squad of DC on the second blob. His turn 2 he had enough steam left to drop his Hearthguard in and let his beserks out of the tank and still scored some points and took an objective. Game ended 27 to 17, counting what secondaries we both scored

A slight misplay, the Grimnyr's bolters come from it's robot CORV models which are COG keyword, & COG models can't benefit from Judgement tokens.

I love my space dwarves, but their rules need a massive overhaul for 10th Ed. Auto-wounding on 4+ should not exist in the game. At all. I'm just gonna work on getting them built and painted and hope for the best with 10th. Love how Brick ran them though.

As soon as I saw the DA list, it was a doomed mission. Freeing up 400 points for your army and then slamming a Knight in there is just not a good idea. 400 points from the DA codex would've gone A LOT further for you. Deathwing, Ravenwing, anything really. Anything but a knight. Highly recommend dropping intercessors. They're filler and great when you have points spare and you want to bring on a lot of chaff-clearing dakka, but infiltrators are the vastly superior option as the objective of the game is.... objectives, and they can potentially score you max on Stubborn. That being said, you have free wargear. You need to be taking your elites with their free wargear. You need a minimum of 20 terminators in your army with cyclone launchers and a fair number of TH/SS (Wouldn't say 20, but a lot go for that. I like the flexibility of having some LC and bolters.) And you need to bring in some heavy weapons from Ravenwing. Then you can take Codex warfare and stay in devastator doctrine all game racking up 2 VP a unit kill, provided the weapon is heavy. You should be scoring 15/15 on Codex warfare. Azrael was a good shout. He's undervalued but don't be afraid to take Lazarus as well for the 5 up FNP to mortal wounds. Extremely useful if you want to throw terminators into the middle of the board for Oaths of Moment. Best of luck!

I question the use of the paladin. It's a good all-rounder, but it doesn't have as good of a spike anywhere as a crusader, a gallant, or a lancer. If you wanted a better all-rounder, running it as an acheron proxy may work better, especially with the Mysterious Guardian tradition. S7 flamers do work

@@tbone11x Nothing invalidates inner circle. They can never wound you better than 4's, ever. Stubborn Defiance is 10 points a game if you play well. Seeing people advocating for dropping it is worrying when every tournament winning and podium placed DA army has it. That's just bad advice.

I dont think they do anything brokenly OP like ravenwing damage right now, but they do literally everything and its very hard to build something to put them down. Even playing Ravenwing into brickys list right here would be a matter of getting turn one and trying to shred as much shooting off the board as possible. Not saying ravenwing doesnt need a change but Votann just do so much.

why does a generic character, that costs 130pts, have 4 attacks at 10/-3/d3+3 thats an absurd amount of damage (or 120pts for 8 attacks at 6/-3/1 which also goes through wound ignoring abilities......apparently...why does a generic character have that rule as well) a CSM termi lord with a chainfist and mark of khorne is 125pts, for 5 pts less you get 6 attacks at 9/5/d3, so less strength, MUCH less damage, a bit higher AP but everything has an invulne anyway so eh you also get 1 less toughness, you dont get the -1 damage, you dont get the -1 to wound, you dont get void armour (AoC and no wound reroll vs him) you dont get the mortal wound on a charge effect, you also have worse shooting HOW did anyone think the loV were balanced, this is post a bunch of nerfs and the einhyr champion is still LEAGUES better then any equivalent character, better toughness, better strength, better damage, better shooting, better armour, -1 to wound and no wound reroll ON TOP of the better toughness, -1 damage........just....what the hell....how is this balanced and thats not even getting into things like the bikes which are even worse

But he also can profit from the Judgement Tokens, don't forget that. And he can get the funny Relic Bricky gave him to regain 1 Wound per Command Phase and get revived on a 3+. Plus he deals Mortals on a Charge. But at least he usually only has 6 Wounds, a 2+/4++ and all the damage reduction, so he'll die really easily. Yeah there kinda is no downside to the Champion, he'll always be a massive threat in melee and he'll never die. But at least he's kinda slow at 5" and Advance of only 3".
