a little thing about mesmerizer is that miku's neck becomes thin while sticking her tongue out, AKA signs of a person who hanged themselves. She might not be hypnotized but instead killed herself, and the hypnotize thing symbolizes depression instead. When teto becomes hypnotized at the end, it's her being depressed due to seeing their employee (miku) die.

30:54 Biochem student here, from a quick search, that chemical is Phosphoribosylaminoimodazolesucinocarboxamide. Its main use is in nucleotide synthesis and is a natural human metabolite so ait might have just been chosen because it has a weirdly long name rather than any story significance.

Man this woulda saved me some time, I was about to reply finding it. I wouldn't have been able to tell what it does, especially since my first hit on google searching the partial of the word was the SAICAR synthase, which looked like I was gazing into hell itself and was confused that there wasn't the shown chemical bond in the vocaloid before noticing I was in the wrong place and finding SAICAR itself. I was considering studying biology in college (until I saw that its a dead end unless you get into bio-petrochem, ironically just like the roles Tetsu and Miku share). For the non-biochem people out there, PRSMIDSC is the protein used to help metabolize the main chemical used to do work in the body, ATP. If ATP is gasoline, PRSMIDSC is the spark from your sparkplug. It rips the phosphor group off of the ATP, producing several chemicals and a lot of energy. Said energy is what lets your muscles contract and a lot of other important biological processes, while the other chemicals are either reused in the case of ADP and ADM to remake ATP with more glucose, or eventually excreted as a waste product. I am SEVERELY dumbing down the process here, because its absolutely an abyss along the lines of Teflon synthesis. Thematically, it makes sense; Its a chemical that helps your cells, well, cell properly.

The other thing in mesmeriser is the amount of confetti that poors down. At the start it's not that much but by the end it's a wholeeeeee lot. I think it represents the amount of effort it took to hypnotise Miku snd Teto? As there is more and more as the video goes on. It also could just be a visual representation of how much worse things are getting and the industries are trying to cover things up

One thing I’ve seen someone say about the confetti is that is that in film making confetti is generally avoided because of how difficult it is to keep the camera in focus with it. If that reasoning is applied to your second theory then it makes sense that they would use bright “pretty” confetti to distract the outside world from what the workers are truly experiencing? I am not sure though which is why I didn’t say anything about the confetti in the video.

Small detail about the Bad End Night Series, Miku and the rest repeat the loop over and over again Bad End and Crazy Night respectively, and Miku is just the Village Girl until they deviate and check the script in Crazy Night, next loop, she awakens. So actually, while they are different perspectives, they are also different loops! Also, the ending she writes is to be saved when she falls to her death.

Mesmerizer actually uses real hypnosis techniques!!! It’s very well researched!! Flashing lights and quickly appearing and disappearing words are a common method for suggestion. The video often points the viewer’s attention toward a point of focus and then shows things in the peripheral view that you aren’t supposed to focus on (this is often why people use spirals in hypnosis, to focus the eyes.) Also, the video uses many bright, saturated, primary colors, which makes everything stand out and draw your attention in furthermore, maybe even aiming to overstimulate, which would help with hypnosis. And a community post details that you should focus on the center point, turn up your device’s brightness, lower the brightness of the surrounding room, and max the volume (preferably with headphones). These are all things that would make hypnosis more effective! It’s impressive!!! It, of course, only says “Mesmerizer”, so your brain is safe if you were worried for it.

I do actually have all the volumes of the Bad End Night manga, and you're scarily close to what actually happens in it. The only exception being that instead of the events ending tragically it ends with Miku living in the real world and the Burlet company shutting down. And reveals who Burlet is and is still alive and is a part of the Bad End Night cast.

My favorite is REISAI's work. Their most famous song is probably "Bathtub and Neon Tetra," which tells the story of a guardsman who meets a mysterious painter. An unhealthy relationship forms, to say the least. Substance abuse, physical and emotional abuse... It's interconnected with all of the other songs on their channe, which tell the stories shared between humans, contracted demons, and gods. The other songs are mostly more chill that BTaNT, and REISAI has a whole website set up giving more detail about the world and its characters. The one caveat is that it's in Japanese and auto translate doesn't work that well in translating certain parts. The art is gorgeous, though. ^^

Mesmerizer could probably be not about work stress, but s*ic*de. You're probably thinking 'That's a stupid theory' but if you look closely, miku has a mark on her neck. Teto, on the other hand, doesn't. It's not a choker, because when miku goes psycho, her neck is broken, her pupils are humongous, and her tounge is lolling out. And she still.has.that.mark. it's probably related to hanging. The hypnotism refers to stress, i think. So when miku falls into it, she's given up all hope and commited s*ic*de. Teto, on the other hand, is more resistant, kinda like 'one more time'. When teto's eyes are black, that means she commited s*ic*de. I think it's work stress and s*ic*de. Basically, two workers are stressed and want to commit s*ic*de. Miku wants to do it straight away, while Teto is trying to get herself to live another day.

Oh my god this was my childhood hyperfixations summarized (except mesmerizer lol) I can't believe someone's talking about these songs in 2024 I feel so nostalgic especially since I own the Bad End Night mangas I'll explain volume 3 since the truth about Burlet is revealed there (since your interpretation is different from the manga and you weren't able to read all of the volumes) After revealing the truth of the entire loop (and the "first night") and Miku sacrificing herself. Burlet is revealed to be Gakupo (I find this weird because the voice used for "Burlet" is Miku's). He had no malicious intention, in fact...he was completely fine with the script, he just didn't like that the success of "Bad End Night" would lead to more forgeries. Burlet wrote the letter to Miku telling her the truth about the script hoping to convince the others that this is a bad idea and they should be honest but Miku died. Burlet stopped time and decided to make the loop happen so they can atone for their sins. After the ending Gakupo leaves the company and len was the only one who knew about his identity and why the looped happened

About Alice Human Sacrifice, I also came across a version that largely omitted the Red Alice from the final section. At least, she wasn't specifically responsible for their deaths. Some music videos implied the boy became possessed by something (either the Red Alice or something else entirely). Others just imply that something happened and they would forever wander. Heck, I believe some versions of the song have a "BANG", implying one of the twins (mainly the brother) killed the sister, while others are silent.

I want to point something out in mesmerizer At the start of the video, Mikus and Tetos eyes have a star shape, before turning round, then turning into a star again, then returning to round form, until right before Mikus breakdown, she winks with a star shape before breaking. Im not sure if this means something, but i just wanted to point it out. Also, i found other details in mesmerizer that might be important The star in the middle switches through spinning like a gear and spinning normally, and the star switches from normal to gear mode after the 2 countdowns, which might be the rythmn of the hypnotization or something idk Also, the clouds also change pace. When Miku and Teto are being hypnotized, the clouds move normally, but everywhere else, they move to the beat of the song. (Tiny noticable detail: The colorful things that cover the screen when theres a screen transition are actually a lot of the stars in the middle.) I dont know if any of these details are significant or just sprites but i found them in the song

Hearing someone talk about the Bad End Night series is SO cool - it was one of my absolute favourite things as a teenager and I still listen to the songs regularly to this day! I also read the light novels at some point and I remember them being pretty decent - there are fan translations out there, I recommend reading them! I should probably read the manga at some point 🤔

Someone already commented something similar, but this's been on my mind for awhile Bad End Night Volume 1: You already talked about this Volume 2: Starts with Gumi and Meiko, offering Gak... And Miku tea (that may or may not be poisoned. Before Gak and Miku search for the missing page While looking for the page, they find a wine cellar. Where all the wine, except for one is fake Miku asks Gack how he likes his wine (aged or not), and Gack says something, related to the Burlet company (basically how certain people are so caught up in preserving the past, that they don't see the future, and are considered outdated because of that. But how he can understand that perspective) Then Miku shares her take (linking the past to the future, even if aspects of the past change) They then talk about a set of paintings, that will become important later. Before Miku goes away, and finds Len This chapter is basically just explaining how the loops work. Miku almost dies again, while getting the book (they're in a library), that explains how the loops began Len brings up the idea, of a supposed 9th player. And how, maybe it's good, that Miku doesn't remember the loops Miku then leaves Len, being just as confused as she was before Miku then goes to the wine cellar, tries to drink wine, fails, and spills wine. She then tries to use the wine, to write the missing page. It doesn't work She then goes to tell the others about First Night and her letter, before she hears them talking It's basically just a progress report (trying to be more brief). But Len mentions that the one responsible, might be among them. And then they talk about how that person would be deceiving them, just like how they're deceiving Miku Miku thinks about this, and how the "accidents", must be them trying to kill her to bring back the 9th player. Miku then decides that she has to kill them She then goes into the room, they talk about not finding the paper. Miku shows them her letter. They flip flop between deciding to use it or not, before Miku decides that they shouldn't ... But if they don't take a chance, nothing will change. So she will She then explains how she "knows everything", before running away The rest eventually catch up to Miku, they talk, lie. Miku threatens to kill Rin if she doesn't get the wins bottle. Miku cuts Kaito, then goes into the coffin room. She then decides, that maybe she should just render the 9th's body unusable Volume 3: Mostly just backstory, and I think most is shown in the songs They then read a letter, and realize that the world they're in, is the world of the play. And they only have two ways to go back 1. Return to reality, and accept that Miku is dead. Or 2. Stay in the play, act it out over and over again, in the hopes that they can bring her back The letter also says, that they can't tell Miku about this. Since if she knows, surely she'll die They're upset at first, before...Rin and Len, tell the others, that This's a great opportunity They then try to figure out their plan, before setting on this: They're all stuck in the world of the play, and must act it out. However, the intermission between acts 1 & 2 is gone, so they need to find it They then start their plan, and "start" act 2 I think this chapter, is mostly the same as one of the songs. Except for the end Gack reveals that he's actually Burlet, and that he's immortal He then goes to see one of Burlet's plays (which has an actor, that's never seen again). And then Kaito talks to Meiko, Rin, and Len, about how fewer and fewer people are coming to see their plays. But they decide that they still want to keep going Seeing this, Burlet decides to join as Gack. Also, Gumi joins, and mentions that she's also an aspiring playwright. She then shows the group, what she thinks is her best play. Endless Night The group likes it, but decides to not rush it into production Sometime later, Kaito informs the group of some bad news. They've reached the point of no return However, him and Gumi came up with a plan: Pretend that a revised version of Gumi's script, is the lost script Crazy Night The group is unsure at first, since this will be sacrilage against Burlet. But Kaito sees it as the only way, to preserve the troupe Gack thinks about this, then agrees The plan doesn't really work, so then Kaito comes up with another plan: Surprise auditions, where they recruit someone from Burlet's village The someone, is Miku. One of Burlet's ancestors Gack sees her practicing her hardest, and a single thought forms in his head "Is it necessary to sacrifice the potential of these youths just to protect the tradition and legacy of the past...?" He also thinks, how the company will become warped. If this works well, they might try again. And again, and continue to do so Skip to the end of Act 1, and... Yeah... Kaito is already planning, on doing this again Gack starts to say, that this isn't they should save the company. Before realizing that he's the only one that thinks that way. He then tries to think of a way, to make them realise this. Before he...Figures something out: Miku doesn't know about the plan So he writes Miku a letter. But she could let the others persuade her, he adds a lie. Which is basically "if they're found out, they'll use you as a scapegoat, and claim that it was all your idea" Gack then puts the letter, in a place where Miku will see it. And hopes they'll have an honest conversation with her. That, didn't happen So he then freezes time, and forces them into the play The final chapter, is basically just an epilogue set 2 years into the future. Nothing really important to the songs happen. So for once, bullet points - Kaito manages to save Miku - They reveal their scheme to the public - They gave everyone their money back, so much so that. Again, point of no return - Then a thought started to form in the minds of the public "Can we really let such a wonderful source of entertainment go down like this?" - Some of the people, refused the refunds. Others made donations to the company. And other others formed groups to raise funds - Slowly but surely, bit by bit, their situation got better. Until they began to flourish And it's all because, of a single night ∞

In Mesmerizer, there are a few things you missed: Mesmerizer means "To not think about anything else" which could mean something big. Miku actually looks like she committed s****de. She has a big ring around her neck, gets paler the more the video goes on and the neck gets thinner. This combined with the dilating pupils, purple-ish hue on her face (?) and the tounge sticking out, this resembles anperwon doing s****de. Though mentioned, the fourth letter of each word of the quiz spelles SOS.
