You should try setting the overdrive to the middle setting if you want to reduce ghosting. Most VA panels work best at that response time setting.

Thanks a lot for the review! I've been having my eyes on the 49" version for a few days now as it has a very decent price right now but couldn't find any good test of it. Now I know it's not for me as I like playing some competitive FPS from time to time and this would completely ruin the experience apparently.

Took a gamble on this £324 down to £319 with a code and then a potential £19 cachback which has tracked, so a potential price for £300. makes it £80 cheaper than the Iiyama, £100 cheaper than the Xiaomi and Gigabyte (gbyte out of stock here in uk) and the AOC is £150ish more. Heres hoping i get a panel with no dead pixels, flickering and no noticeable ghosting/black smearing. I currently game on a AOC C24G1 1080p 144hz VA panel so i am hoping this monitor is as good as that one with an ultrawide 21:9 aspect

I have a few question I would be grateful if you could answer. I haven't colour calibrated properly is there a way to properly do that? I am using a display port 1.2 cable, should I get a display port 1.4 for 3440x1440p 144hz and hdr? Thanks.

Awesome review! I've heard that replacing the stock DP cord can fix the ghosting and G Sync issues. Just ordered mine so we'll see how it works out.

Yes because this monitors ghosting and black smearing is bad with this monitor. Meaning the response time is bad.

I haven’t tried the xiaomi, I tried to get it from banggood as a review product after they reached out to me but it fell through. They are both similar so I would go with either. It’s not quantum dot so it wouldn’t have the reddish tint as the dark matter but it has less colors.

Seems like you have a curved monitor (samsung) and regular monitor (acer). Isn't it kind of difficult with that staggered set up? What's the stand you're using?

It isn’t because it’s staggered, that’s fine, the screen real estate is to big for me though personally. I’m just testing it out for a while and then most likely going back to a single monitor. It’s the Atumtek dual monitor arm, there’s a video on my channel covering it.

Hey 1 up nerdcore, really appreciate you doing this in depth review! None out there. I'm looking at this monitor due to the 375 euros price tag with black friday. I mainly use it for video editing to have more real estate (I understand the colors will not be 100% correct) and to play apex legends, league of legends and other shooters. The extreme ghosting you mentioned kind of worried me for the latter purpose. It's the same panel used in many of the same priced models/brands. Will they also have these problems? Would you recommend another model (other than the AOC you mentioned). Thanks alot!

I think if you could calibrate it the colors look better than a lot of other VA panels I’ve used since it has 1.07 billion colors vs 16.7 million. For this price point you won’t find another monitor with these specs but if you’re willing to pay more there are some good panels out there but most ultra wides I’ve seen have some ghosting.

A regular 16:9 monitor. Console games don't support 21:9 Ultrawide nor 32:9 Super Ultrawide monitors. If you buy any Ultrawide monitor for a console, you'll have huge black bars on the left and right sides.

Monoprice is an awesome company they've been around for quite a while. they essentially sell generic versions of products so they can sell (at least I think) quality products at an affordable price
