I don't stop. You need different perspectives. Dr. Dray gets lasers that will kinda null and void any skincare since that's the ultimate in skincare. She also doesn't even finish products for a full review. You neec at least 30 days of use to see a difference.

In my experience, dark circles do not get better (in fact, worsen) if I go to bed late and it doesn't matter if I sleep 8 or 10 hours. Going to bed early (around 11 pm) and waking up after 8 or 9 hours however, lighten my dark circles noticeably. I have gotten compliments from people about my dark circles 'disappearing' when I've maintained an 'early to bed and early to rise' routine for two months straight. I however cannot maintain that :( I love late night Internet surfing too much.

I've had dark undereyes and eyelids since puberty. The color is more of a deeper brown than it is a purple or a blue. All of the women in my family develop this hyperpigmentation during puberty, and it continues to darken with age. I have rather tan (indian) skin in general, and with this increased darkness around my eyes, physical sunscreens look atrocious. I'm gritting my teeth and getting on with chemical sunscreens around my eyes so I look presentable during the day, so here's hoping this slows down the darkening as I age!

Great video but as a hairstylist and makeup artist I would like to recommend, NOT a green concealer or canodlayge cream (never ever green honestly it makes one look ashen) but to lessen dark circles, which are purple, you need the (secondary in this case) color which is opposite on the color wheel . Orange (salmon, peach, NOT pink) the salmon or peach camoflauge cream will mask and neutralize dark circles. They will also mask redness without looking ashy. My personal favorite is Eve Pearl's Dual Salmon Conceler. Creamy like butter and great coverage and pretty affordable around $10.

I love that you did this video. I will add an anecdotal experience. I had chronic dark eye circles until I was correctly diagnosed with autoimmunity and consequently cut all grain, dairy, legumes, nightshades, bpa, gums, soda, micotoxins, red meats, eggs and shellfish from my diet. They were eliminated as a result of my body being irritated by them, not because they were deemed inherently bad. My health has improved dramatically including the dark circles. Not sure what the correlation was but they're mostly gone now. I'm slowly adding some foods back in with success but I may never be able to include some things ever again. :)

I think my glasses are my best concealer, and cheaper than plastic surgery, lol. thanks dr. dray! I know my dark circles are mostly genetic as I was born with them...as you mentioned born structure, quality of skin, I am extremely pale and have delicate skin so everything is more "visible" ...I really really struggled growing up in my younger age...and as with most things the more we obsess with them the more we see them right? Now I am older and more in peace with them, and I have also learnt how much they fluctuate with my lifestyle, sleep, clean eating, stress...etc..so I would say that as with many things, learning to know oneself, take care, accept...but still, the only thing I do put on my base as a minimum would be concealer when I wear make-up! xxx

Highly recommend the Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Face Dry Touch Spf 50. It has 21.6% zinc oxide. It does leave behind a white cast but if you take the time while applying it to smooth it out and melt it into your skin, it's hardly noticeable. After applying it evenly, I use the palm on my hand to help it melt into my skin and I wipe downwards when blending it out. After giving it a few minutes to set, I apply my foundation and a light dusting of powder if I'm wearing makeup and you'd never guess I had on a high % zinc oxide sunscreen. It did take me a few tries to get it to work for me but it was well worth it. Prevention is the best anti aging thing we can do for our skin. Use your sunscreen:-))) Great Q & A Dr Dray!!!

Hi Dr. Dray I just stumbled on your channel last night and have been binge watching your videos! It is incredibly refreshing hearing from a skin professional. You have really opened up my eyes and I just wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge. Also I adore your sweet personality. You just radiate positivity and sincerity it's truly a breath if fresh air. I do have a question that I would love your expertise on... What do you recommend for prepping the face for an intense gym session straight from work? All I use is a makeup wipe and sometimes I tone with witch hazel after that... or maybe I should makeup wipe then use cleanser? Not too sure ! I'd love your insight, thanks so much :) Love from Calgary, Canada ✌

Thanks so much!! You don't need to prep the skin for the gym, and if anything avoid makeup wipes at all costs as they are a constant source of skin problems that we see in dermatology. Witch hazel, however, is nice and gentle and I use it to "de-shine" on particularly shiny forehead days

Hi Dr. Dray, just wanted to say I've recently come upon your videos and I love them. You have such a wealth of information and you're really a breath of fresh air when it comes to dermatologists being stingy with explanations. I also wanted to add that it is probably not a good idea to link more premium skincare products such as Skinceuticals through amazon as they are not a verified retailer of Skinceuticals products. This is stated on their official website in fact and what can happen is the product on Amazon is past its expiry or is an outdated formula. It can also be counterfeit which is especially dangerous. Keep the vids coming! ;-) P.S. I haven't searched for a video about using anti-oxidant "based" skincare products (referring to Skinceuticals) but I think it would be especially interesting if you covered this topic with respects to using these products at a young age and if there is any worth to this. Also for anyone still reading this who wants a good 2 in 1 sunscreen I strongly recommend Elta MD Clear. Especially if you have oilier skin! Going off on a tangent here now but I suffer from very severe blepharitis and I just watched your video on seborrheic dermatitis. I think I'm going to try the bit of dandruff shampoo on my eyebrows in the shower as I believe it is a main cause for this chronic condition and use OcuSoft lid scrubs. If you have any other tips for this as well please let me know!

not really true...i have spoken with the reps at the product fares and they have confirmed that amazon is reliable
