I saw this pair at the boat race music bar in Cambridge UK in 1999 ish , there was was only a handful of people in there, it was midweek and I don't think many people had heard of them ,, they absolutely blew us away with their raw talent, now if I catch them on tour with transatlantic sessions there are thousands of people in the audience, I cherish that time at the boat race as a jewel in my life 👍👍

Roots music doesn't get any better than these two boys. Musicians, singers, songwriters, they are among the best ever. Their album Real Time recorded in Darrell's living room is among my favorite bluegrass albums, simply superb.

Not to mention the MULTIPLE awards as a song-writer. Wrote "Long Time Gone" (Dixie Chicks) and "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" (Patty Loveless) - among so many others. His own solo acoustic version of "Long Time Gone" - he is such a killer player - he sounds like a whole band all by himself. He's the whole entire package . . .

Darrell seems to be getting all the love, but nobody is better than Tim. He's not as bluesy as Darrell but his picking is _so_ crisp and clean. And versatile. If you don't own Red on Blonde...well don't blame if you live an unfulfilled life.
@jeffgaumond42506 жыл бұрын
Right on, Red on Blonde, the best Dylan cover album, next to maybe the 1963 Baez does Dylan, and back then she really was doing Dylan (lol)
