Maaan, I know I'm fella and you're a fella and all that, but I think I love you and appreciate not only what you're doing, but also the person you are. Nothing brings hope and joy to my heart than seeing somebody who's a fountain of knowledge, pouring it down into the world and the collective conciousness. You're a hero and a star in my book, and many many more I'm sure. Love you, truly.

Thanks for that comment. Isn't that strange that this seems so? It's a huge part of what matters with music. As a teacher it's what I end up focusing on a lot 'cause a lot of folks have learned the melody and harmony and neglected any serious focus on the rhythmic component. My new lessons (out later early this year) really zone in on it.

Well done! Have to edit this comment, spend 20 minutes going over the tune with you, had to add my Thanks for the lesson! I’ve played for a few decades now, the thing that keeps my love affair of guitar going is picking up little licks and tips from other players, always moving my playing forward, without really having improvement my goal. Great lesson and would be a cool step change for anyone interested in a really cool version of a 12 bar blues tune! Well done once again! Cheers from Canada

Whoa...here on 26/03/2021.... how did I not know Darren Watson had a youtube channel??.... As a fellow New Zealander this is one of the guys who inspired me to pick up a guitar... Darren is the blues of Wellington New Zealand, he understands the land and its people and translates the blues into a beautiful combination of US blues and NZ feelz... a potent mix. He has always *ALWAYS* pushed the blues ahead of his own self... he's a NZ blues institution and we could not be prouder of him.

Hey Darren! Thank you for this awesome tutorial. I’ve been playing guitar basically my whole life and was never interested in this finger picking style until I found you on KZbin. Here’s the thing... what your left hand is doing is simple and what your right hand is doing is simple. My problem is the syncopation of the thumb and the fingers. Somehow it’s not clicking. I was wondering if you might have an exercise that would help make this easier to grasp. I’ve worked my way through about half of this lesson and I’m hoping it just clicks... but it hasn’t yet.
