I've always disliked Star Wars, even before Disney bought it and made it into the mainstream slop that it is now. Even the original trilogy never did anything for me but leave me feeling indifferent and wishing Indiana Jones was on instead. But after spending so much time with Ubisoft's Star Wars Outlaws I can say I legitimately hate Star Wars now. And you should to.

what's funny about the Twilek thing is they toned down and erased the dancers, slaves and secretaries but kept Jabba's Assistant, he's Twilek and was for a good few years the only male one in Cannon and it was implied he was fairly typical appearance and profession wise for his species gender.

It's only uninteresting in an echo chamber of cynicism. Most people I know who have actually tried it ended up liking it. It's definitely a flawed game but it's the best example of stealth that Ubisoft has done in a while. It's a step in the right direction for sure. But misogynists will judge it based on the main character. They seem to really be enjoying this game over at what culture gaming and they're usually pretty cynical of Ubisoft

They announced a Star Wars open-world game after the Disney buyout just as they sunset development on most of the star wars games still being made such as 1313 which was basically the idea of star wars criminal underworld open world game on the lowest level of Coruscant. The next attempt was by EA and was stopped and started several times on the back burner until they finally just gave up. I bring this up as after at least 3 projects, more than a decade and two publishers this is the star wars open world game we got, and the kicker, 1313 was allegedly a Boba Fett centric game meant as a spiritual successor to bounty hunter and the Jedi academy series featuring a lot of characters from the extended universe set between eps 3 and 4.

It's insane how the universe is so unfathomably colossal it defies human comprehension, yet Star Wars makes it feel like a single apartment building where everyone knows each other. Star Wars should have always been an anthology, where each film or trilogy takes place in a completely different galaxy... you know, a galaxy far far away? New characters, new planets, keep lightsabers and the Force since those are the defining features of SW, that's all you need to keep across individual stories.

It's because Star Wars is running on fumes, and those fumes are called nostalgia. Hey let's return to Tatooine, the planet where supposedly nothing ever happens, for the thouandth time! People remember Tatooine! At least with first season or so of The Mandalorian they had the sense to deliver pure, uncut nostalgia, unburdened by needless distractions like character development and plot. That was fun for a while.

Even just by pure coincidence, most games tend to be able to at least string two or more plot points together in a way that makes sense... Outlaws believed those were too lofty ambitions, and decided that they wanted a game where basicly nothing fits together for any other reason than the plot needs it to function!

I find it funny how they had to make the female bounty hunter have an empowerment scene and turn on the evil bossy male. It made no tactical sense, goes against everything she has to gain from the whole mission and basically destroys her whole career.

And that said girlboss female character I can’t remember the name of just so happens to be by her own reputation a dangerous Bounty hunter who has no doubt hunted and killed people for Sliro and other crime bosses, many people who we can easily assume were good people or had good intentions and were on the wrong side at the wrong time. So this woman who also happens to be a woman of color (which in Disney‘s eyes means representation points) is terrible person, so we as an audience have no reason to care for this woman nor root for her.

8:36 The Rebels didn't trick Kay or try to welch on her payment. They wanted to steal something from Slurpo, and when the package (it being a person changes nothing, the rebels weren't acting like she was getting paid in whatever was in the vault) was secured, they told Kay 'Alright, we'll pay you as soon as we're not getting shot at.' which is how most people would expect payment to go. Then Kay decided to pull a gun on them while surrounded and in the middle of a firefight with the security team in a time sensetive situation, the Rebels were completely justified is dropping her dumb ass there. The real sin here is she'll continue to act like a self righteous twat after this encounter despite how she'd have gotten everything she wanted if she just waited until after everyone had gotten to saftey.

Looking at a modern star wars game is like walking past the graveyard where a relative who died of Alzheimer years ago lies buried. You have long since overcome the heartbreak of the tragedy, or perhaps simply became indifferent to it, even though a part of you still feels that tinge of dejection as it sees that tombstone in the distance and recalls the many good memories from your childhood and the bitter memories of progressively watching someone you loved lose themselves in the ever progressing madness until everything that made them the person you knew was gone and never to return, leaving behind only a souless husk that clung onto life support for years before finally being granted the mercy of death. But deep down, you couldn't even be sad at that moment, because the person you knew was already long gone by that point and you already came to begrudgingly accept that fact.

regarding the 30:38 statement: since Protocol Droids are older then a Commando droid, you could argue that ND is much more advanced and difficult to repair as C3PO. Beside that, the factories for BX-Models are destroyed/ shut down at this point, making ND a rarity and hard to replace.

In addition, protocol droids are/were good in casual society. Anakin made C3PO to help his mom with chores and many protocol droids are used as translators/servants. By comparison, Commando Droids were soldiers of one of the warring factions and were made in factories and meant to be somewhat disposable, meaning that they are not something most mechanics would have worked on or have any experience with. In other words: anyone on the Republic side would likely be an enemy/target as soon as it booted up, anyone with the CIS/Empire would not care to repair it when they have so many, so the only people who would have worked on fixing them up were either scavengers or tinkerers who see a war droid and go "I can fix that".

Being fair though - the "nerdy" guy didn't know she was his sister (because they'd not written yet that she was...) at that point. Though it did spawn a meme, and probably inspired Jaime Lannister. IMO, the string that keeps tripping up Star Wars stories is that they insist on canonising everything instead of giving us alternate timeline stuff. It relegates everything they want to make to have little to no consequence in the universe and contain characters we already know the fate of, which destroys a lot of tension. Pretty much the only thing we've gotten like this is Force Unleashed.

@@samflood5631 oh it is. The best thing about it is the tutorial island. Look up as many reviews of the game as possible and you’ll understand. The story was 100% sacrificed in order to avoid the timeline Zelda was known for, and sacrificed as well to make the game and future installments a reboot universe without an explanation of the existence of the Rito, friendly Zora, 4 races for 4 elements repeated garbage, etc etc. if you have never touched the game, DO NOT BUY IT, the only people who should play it are the ones already too late deep into it, as quitting then would be a waste of time and money

I also like how they put the timeline in it, just by placing Boba and Jabba in it, waiting on the frozen Han for his freeing (so this is just before Leia moved there): Also you can still hear stories in the cantina how the still visible shot holes in the walls came to be :). Why not remind us of better times in cinemas, while doing a medicre but fun game about it. Lets see what media will make a joke on this one^^
