When I was studying reductionist science, the book that made me think and look in the other direction was called: 'the collapse of chaos: discovering simplicity in a complex world'. Back then, it was called emergent phenomena, now it is called holism. This led me to study and try to understand the behavior of interactive systems in general and specifically in relation to DNA repair mechanisms... this eventually became my research, and I eventually became a Muslim

I have been experimenting with how to lighten my load while walking back and forward to my local shop. I have an old ankle injury, a bad lower back and very bad circulation. This allows me to notice slight variations while walking. I noticed that overall, walking on grass instead of pathways certainly cushions my knees. I have also noticed that if I keep my mouth shut this significantly lightens my load. Also when I clench my fists and put them in front of me a bit like a train it can also help propell me forward. It is my conclusion that keeping our mouths closed more often can help improve our circulatory system. Sorry if this is off topic but the example of termites made me think about homeostasis. It is fascinating how termites can have such a profound instinct but that is actually quite easy for a termite to figure out I would suggest.
