Tyler Ballz Why you mad, guy? The 80s in general were comical, from the neon jumpsuits to the hairstyles, etc. Massive amounts of cocaine mixed with waning artistic sensibilities makes for comedy gold, which is exemplified perfectly by the 80s, of which H&O were a staple of the culture. I didn’t say anything about their musical abilities, only that by today’s standards it’s pretty damn cheesy. “No can do...” Bahahaha That’s amazingly corny and lame, and that’s the reality whether your perception aligns with it or not. I ain’t mad; why you mad?
@REALDEALMMA916 жыл бұрын

Bro let me explain this to you as thorough as possible I’m definitely not mad and I didn’t look at it in that perspective when you explain the color jumpsuits and all that shit I guess I can agree with you I was born in 1991 though so I don’t really know much about the 80s but one thing I know is hall and oates Hey still banging at barbecues all across America and cookouts

Speaking about the meaning of the lyrics, John Oates has stated that while many listeners may assume the lyrics are about a relationship, in reality, the song, "is about the music business. That song is really about not being pushed around by big labels, managers, and agents and being told what to do, and being true to yourself creatively." This was done intentionally, he explained, to universalize the topic

Blue-eyed soul! These were two of the baddest soulful/r&b singers in the 80's! All of their songs were great and here it's 2018 and they sound as good as they did in the 80's. 80's music was the absolute best ever, that was an era where everything was just cool and life felt great. I'm an 80's lady, always will be, I'll be 45 this year in December. These guys can sing to me anytime, and I always had a crush on Daryl Hall. =)

No, very few have sampled or covered this song, and for good reason: Why? There's nothing anyone can do with it to make it "better", nor would there be any point in doing it "different". One on One is just one of those very rare songs that is so good, as is, that people had the good sense to leave it alone and enjoy. I Can't Go For That is definitely one of the most sampled and/or covered pop songs - White Christmas holds that record.
